Pops touched upon how feminism fits into a hierarchical structure, and everything below the elites are a useful idiot to the parasitical group above them.
Look at my sig to see where I believe feminism belongs in the food chain.

The internet has been a lifeboat for men's opposition to the floodings of feminism.

Re: How much do you blame feminism
Charlie, I think you are confusing feminists and suffragettes. Certainly, I can't think of any feminists anywhere known for chaining themselves up, and the famous lunatic who threw herself under a horse was a suffragette (and lots of people feel how terrible this one incidence was, when millions of men were dying fighting a war with only a promise of getting the vote when it was over).
The suffragettes were a different group than the feminists, even in countries (such as the UK) where neither men nor women had full suffrage. I cover this issue briefly in the following blog:
Why many women think they are feminists -- and why they are wrong. - Blogs - antimisandry.com
Blame them for WHAT? Most women did not desire the vote; most did not want their rights reduced to be equal to men (they knew they had a good thing going) and most women today don't want to be brought down to be equal to a man. Who would? No, sorry, it doesn't wash. There are threads on this forum about what good feminism has done: it is an interesting exercise to try to fathom it out.Last edited by Douglas; 15th-October-2011 at 06:12 PM. Reason: formatting

I apologise for not getting your sig. It's excellent.

With due respect, I wonder. I wouldn't use a microwave for quite some time because it didn't seem natural to me. The lesson is something I read allot in business - people fight change for they are uncomfortable with the unknown. Women today seem to accept their right to vote and working as men do like a duck to water just like I now find a microwave useful for many things today.
PS. I am just thinking we might need to look at things a bit deeper.Last edited by julie; 15th-October-2011 at 05:07 PM. Reason: content auto merged

No need to look deeper, Julie. There is no doubt that most women today would not want to give up the vote. Times have changed, relationships between the genders have changed and women want the vote. That does not mean that at the time of the suffragettes that women generally wanted the vote. There were active women's groups in the USA and in the UK (I don't know about anywhere else but I expect the same) against women having the vote.

Re: How much do you blame feminism
I hear where you are coming from but I just see things differently.
It wasn't that women didn't have the vote but that middle and lower class women didn't have the vote just as the same class of men. Of course not all men got out and said, "I want the vote" and I bet many saw the cons too.
But I don't care anyways, for I want my government out and I am going to use the one small piece I have to give my vioce - my vote this coming November.
PS. Maori couldn't work in a post office until 1960. Wow, only 50 years ago did we consider someone based on gender and race equal. We are only decades ahead of other countries to see people as people.Ignorance is the Oppressor, Vigilance the Liberator.
