How come only the man is kicked out of his house during

a relationship separation/divorce? men don't kick women out of the house as often. probably the same thing with sleeping on the couch.

The thing is it is most likely HIS house. He probably paid for most of it.

    some interesting responses.

because HE'S probably the one who screwed things up!

Because it's still culturally acceptable to abuse men.

He wouldn't technically have to leave if it's part "his" house.

However, men at least historically have been considered to have greater access to funds and ability to earn them. And women are those who are more "critical" for reproduction of the species while any number of men could technically put in a couple minute reproduction investment and leave (as some still do). Women are also generally physically weaker.

Anyway, for better or worse, the suffering burden tends to get dumped on men.

Usually if there are kids involved, they ask the man to leave because it uproots the children. It is tons easier for a guy to go live in a hotel for a few days than a woman and kids. As far as sleeping on the couch goes. I would rather do that and give her some space, than have her not sleep and be grouchy the next morning. As far as it being "his" house, no it is not. If she lives there too, even if she does not work, she has probably worked hard to make it a home. Plus she has probably done all the cooking, cleaning, organizing, etc, so she has put in just as much work as he has. There is more to having a family and owning a home than just working and paying the bills. Anyone can bring in a paycheck, it takes a family to make the house run smooth. Last I checked, the woman was part of the household and the family. Personally if things got really bad between me and my wife, no way would I kick her out. I have two sons who have lived there since they were born and I would not uproot them for anything. Plus I would not put her out on the street to fend for herself. I am a provider and that means providing a home and shelter and necessities for my family. I would be a piss poor man to do anything less and any other man who wouldn't doesn't have the right to call themselves a man either.
I knew some chivalrous guy was going to show u with his shaming language.
Real men give up their homes and sleep on the couch.

Because it is easier for him to find somewhere to go, instead of her and the kids. The children need to have a stable home.
Well if he had custody he and the kids could stay and the woman could leave. Women like hotels and spas anyways.

My birth father wanted nothing to do with me and from what I understand was glad when my stepfather adopted me--so he wouldn't have to pay a grand total of $5 a month.

As far as the subject...I thought a man's home was supposed to be his castle.

I totally edorse that view stated in the mauve caption - sums up the feminit dogma exquisitely

I have noted the esteem wimyn have for iridology, Tartot card, horoscopes, intuition - the righteousness their feelings ( wishing for good things to happen to them), tantric sex, seances,
ouija boards aroma therapy and in fact any form of argy bargy ( baloney)
that reinforces their dereisitic notions that good things ought to happen to them without any mental or physical effort on their part

I can understand you being as mad as all hell, Zuberi.

Have you tried to find him?

I am a father who lost a child. I grieve every day for my duaghter. If she gave me just one kind word, the healing could begin and be so welcomed.

Just think for a moment how your dad might feel. The wound that he has carried. You could both benefit from contact. If it is not too late.

Castles are usually for princesses, like most modern women who think the men should leave and not them.

Could you try and search for him, Zuberi?

I'm sure he doesn't hate you. It's hard to say why he hasn't been around, but I can guarantee it wasn't anything about you. Either way, you both deserve the chance to get to know each other.
"Every noble impulse, every unselfish expression of love; every brave suffering for the right; every surrender of self to something higher than self; every loyalty to an ideal; every unselfish devotion to principle; every helpfulness to humanity; every act of self-control; every fine courage of the soul, undefeated by pretense or policy, but by being, doing, and living of good for the very good’s sake—that is spirituality." -David O. McKay
