"Why is chatter the metric? How about just comparing raw screen time? There's a lot more that goes on in the average film than talk - line counts vary a lot from film to film. Why the emphasis on speaking roles? I think it's because if you look at minutes on screen, it's about even for men and women across the board, and of course that doesn't feed the beast! Men and women absolutely MUST have the exact same representation in every aspect of life as portrayed in entertainment. I personally feel that there is not nearly enough belching, farting peeing and puking by women on-screen as compared to men, and something must be done about it! I demand justice!"

I work in the media and have been the victim of discrimination having been overlooked for promotion in favour of less qualified women. I've also worked at a government entity at a time when it held a moratorium on the promotion of men to increase the numbers of women in positions of authority. That organistion is now overwhelmingly female, so much so that it is becoming embarrassing, even for women. Not for the feminits though, "Give them an inch and they'll take a mile".

Anyhow, I came across a Hollywood blog that has an obsession with the statistics of women's representation and participation in the industry. I've commented on some of the items and had at least one comment removed. Take a look and please do pitch in with your own contributions:

Been there, had it happen to me a couple times. As for Hollyweird, it's a different planet with its' own psychosis. I am beginning to refuse to watch movies and media that denigrate men repeatedly for social commentary and "Comedy". Mass media has become nothing more that a propaganda tool for the government and female centric (Frminists) political action groups.

Aladdin had no sign of a father until the (questionable) sequels. And we get a thief no less. Why are so many Disney fathers just NOT THERE, USELESS, or JUST MEAN? I mean sure, the Great Mouse Detective and the Princess and the Frog had images of positive dads, but look at how popular those films are compared to The Little Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast.

Men are just more interesting, so they use men more. Even for women’s messed up ideas of “humor” or “touching stories” by abusing them. People want entertainment, not more women or manginas crying over a “hard life” or the like.

It should give me a warm feeling to know that my comments have exposed the fragility and venom of the feminits. But really, it's not that difficult.

I've been accused on that site of being a misogynist (surely that should be MSogynist?) and a troll, even mentally retarded, yada-yada-yada. Plenty of insults but not much in the way of counter arguments.

But now I'm deeply, deeply hurt. So damaged that I might never recover. You see, I have been told by 'LINN' that I BELIEVE IN FEMINISM!!

If you have female coworkers who you respect and you believe deserve what they have because they are equal to you, then both you and them believe in feminism.

I had no idea that treating fellow human beings with respect and dignity was down to feminism. I am now determined to change my ways. I'm gonna treat everyone like shit!

It makes perfect sense, though. Like how the Ku Klux Klan says it's just a civil rights organization, so if you treat races equally, then you are a Klansman.

Women in hollywood? I have yet to find a Man who will watch anything other then ESPN or the News on his alone freetime. Programming is made for women and there are a shitload of women who work behind the scenes too...
