I disagree with you that feminism ruined women. I think that feminism was embraced by women but women were left to their own devices and many chose "the dark side". Even today, I believe that women are fine with the benefits of feminism at the expense of men they're just against the damage that feminism does to women and they include children so that more men sympathize with their cause.

Anti-feminist women are not pro-MRA or whatever you want to call it women. They're just women that are unpleasantly surprised that feminism is not the joy-ride they intended it to be for women and now they want out of it. Many of them would be perfectly fine if they could receive all the benefits of feminism at the expense of men without all of the backlash as a result of it (e.g. not being able to find a husband).

Not to be impolite, but that should read George Carlin was an unbelievable mangina.

Having read the late Mr. Carlin's biography, Last Words, I was appalled by his blatant disrespect of not only his own father but men in general. I grew up idolizing Mr. Carlin and still find much of his work entertaining to this day. It seems that Mr. Carlin developed a flawed view of society early in his childhood at the feet of his mother and never quite got over his issues and subconscious misandry but if you observe his career closely I think you can see a slide to the right, late in his career and his life. Had Mr. Carlin lived another decade or two, not likely because let's face it he was fucking old, I believe we would have witnessed Mr. Carlin waking up and starting to call bullshit on his own once far left positions.

After reading Last Words I am convinced that Mr. Carlin was moving towards the right and turning a jaundice eye on the extremist left, a position he seemed to favor for most of his career, but one I believe he was waking up to in the years before his death. I believe it that an articulate speaker from the MRM could have swayed Mr. Carlin into speaking out against misandry had they the opportunity to do so.

I cannot forgive Mr. Carlin for misrepresenting men but I believe he did so because he did not fully understand the big picture. Once someone drinks to kool-aid of a particular ideology it is hard for them to see or even understand things from an opposing viewpoint. I myself was a libtard as a youth, an anarchistic extremist libertarian brat in fact, but I understand that it was my youthful idealism and rebellious angst that was behind my exuberant naivete.

In recent years I have moved to the right, a by-product of aging perhaps, but I still lean to the left. I am to the right of most people who would call themselves a liberal, democrat or leftist, but I am also to the left of most people who would call themselves conservative, republican, christian conservative or traditionalist. I am not a moderate, in the middle or on the fence. So I guess I'm in left field taking positions not unlike conservatives against the extremists of the left. Mr. Carlin was being to see what the left had become towards the end of his life and had he lived, I is my belief that he could have moved away from the intolerance that has become so pervasive of the left today and joined me deep in the outfield.

So while George Carlin was an unbelievable mangina, I think he was starting to smell bullshit.

I believe your post was very well made, Unregistard. It is quite true that it is hard for one to see another perspective than the one they were raised in. However, if the viewpoint is more logical than the one held, it is easier to change position - as you have seen in Mr. Carlin's later years. I myself find it hard and even impossible to understand the incongruent maze that society has deemed rational. Maybe I'm like what Mr. Carlin could have been. If a person wants to find what is right, he will find it.

Nevertheless, the phrase that stands out comes in his Piss off Feminists act.

He does criticise men. And quite rightly to my mind. Taken out of the 'One Standard' context he sounds like a mangina, but is he really not just telling an unwelcome truth about Mr Average dork?

We spend a lot of time here talking of what is wrong with society and putting all the blame on feminists and women, but truthfully it is far more complex than that and men have 'gone along with' our own slavery and stupidity for far too long.

That said, I don't like most American comedians / stand-up unfunny-men, whetever their extraction.

I do not find much humour in our modern world at all unless I look very hard with a humourous mind.
