It is a very modern custody battle.
A gay man who donated sperm to his lesbian ex-wife is demanding overnight and holiday contact with her two-year-old son.
She and her female partner are fighting his demands, saying he has ‘betrayed’ a ‘pact’ made before the child was conceived under which the father would have only ‘limited’ parental rights.
The three parents – who are highly-paid professionals living in central London – cannot be named to protect the boy’s identity.

The sexual prefferences are irrelevant.. What I would say is relevant is the "contract made at the point of conception".. I do not think the courts take that view.. They take the "childs best interests" approach, which is of course meaningless because the child is a child and the only idea folks can have of what is the childs best interests are being spoken "on behalf" of a minor.. I am sure plenty of folk will enjoy profitting from dragging this case on and on until the child can "vote with its feet"..

How many times do we see this jolly gay arrangement fall apart when realities begin to set in? That gay men envoloped in their ideological disconnect from reality, are swept away by this gayfull union and it all sounds immensely wonderful as the stars are arranged and how it will be a protest against the scourge of patriarchy etc. Almost every time after the wine and cheese has been consumed, we see that lesbian couples have no intent in allowing sperm-donor fathers, regardless of promises, to have any further involvement beyond the cold and empty process of sending your sperm in the post. The more likely communication the fellow will receive in the post is a demand from the CSA!
