Feminists for Equality propaganda

In the above URL, a site member has posted a snap-shot from what I presume to be from your department (feminism/gender studies).


As you can see, the literature is entirely hateful & intensely bigoted to assume that all men need advising not to rape someone they earlier offered a lift.


I wish to know how you intend to punish the abusive individuals that designed and circulated such hateful material, which only serves to drive a horrible wedge between men & women, cause men to fear a potential for false allegations when all he's trying to do is offer someone a lift home as well as cause women to assume any man might be about to violently attack her.


Naturally, something this offensive deserves more than a mere slap on the wrist - proper action against the individual who created and circulated this needs to fully understand that such misandric & sexist attacks on half the world's population cannot go unpunished.... correct?


Or do you support the bigoted notion that 'all men are potential rapists' and that all women are eternal victims?


As I have a daughter in America who has shown interest in Stanford, I intend to keep her informed of the outcome of this email (she was as disgusted by this as I am) so she can make an informed decision on whether she will be attending a sexist & bigoted University or whether she should look elsewhere, for a better, egalitarian University that doesn't promote hateful sexism. Naturally, I will also be reporting the outcome on my website which has nearly 100,000 hits per month.

I am going to send an email but I need to refer to sources, as I don't want to say it came from Stanford's Gender Studies dept without being able to prove it.

The notice board on which the poster appears does indeed have a Stanford poster on it as well, but it also has a poster from the University of Nicosia. And the "Bruin Feminists for Equality" group appears - from my web searches - to be a UCLA organisation.

Oooh, well spotted... Assuming it is nothing to do with the Uni, they will surely explain that in their reply to me. Regardless of who the notice-board is owned by, it's worth asking Uni's whether they approve of such bigotry as being displayed by this group who call themselves "Feminists for Equality".

They hope to achieve "equality for all people" with slogans like;

"Dude Tip #4; If you are in an elevator and a person gets in, don't rape them".

The Bruin Feminists for Equality group – which meets regularly at UCLA - recently published a series of posters aimed at raising awareness of sexual violence. I believe;

1. That the campaign itself constituted an organised act of sexual harassment against the male students of UCLA, both as individuals and collectively;
2. That this harassment was not taken seriously because its victims were male;
3. That if it had it been targeted instead against any other social group - such as a particular race or religion - it would have been instantly denounced for the bigotry it so clearly contains.

The campaign portrayed men as the sole aggressors in all acts of sexual violence. No attempt was made to qualify this message or balance it with a similar portrayal of women. It was aimed at every male student, and assumed that each was equally predisposed toward criminal behaviour by reason of their gender. Examples of slogans used are:

Dude Tip #3: If you offer someone a ride, remember not to rape them
Dude Tip #4: If you are in an elevator and a person gets in, don’t rape them

These posters and slogans create a hostile environment based on gender stereotyping, and represent antagonistic conduct motivated on the basis of gender and gender identity. This campaign therefore meets UCLA’s own definition of sexual harassment, as described in section B of “UCLA Policy on Sexual Harassment”, viewable at;

The introduction of this document states:
"The University will respond promptly and effectively to reports of sexual harassment, and will take appropriate action to prevent, to correct, and if necessary, to discipline behavior that violates this policy."

Sexual harassment is neither legally protected expression nor the proper exercise of academic freedom, regardless of its target. UCLA’s male students do not “owe” Bruin Feminists for Equality any debt – much less one which can be repaid by a toleration of organised abuse. Can you please describe why you have not taken action against this group as a result of their campaign?

I have copied Professors Koski, Reich and Zappert of Stanford University into this correspondence as I feel it would be appropriate for your reply to be peer-reviewed.
