Female TV celebrity in trouble over sex slur
From Stuff:
Rest of the article can be found HERE.The co-host of an Australian television program has publicly apologised for making a sexist and disrespectful comment about Victoria Cross winner Ben Roberts-Smith, saying she had never met the Australian war hero and "felt sick" at the angry backlash she had received after branding him brainless.
Yumi Stynes of Channel Ten's The Circle admitted she did not know much about Corporal Roberts-Smith when she commented on a photograph of the shirtless war hero in a swimming pool yesterday, saying: "He's going to dive down to the bottom of the pool to see if his brain is there".
Stynes' guest co-host and veteran journalist George Negus had then quipped: "I'm sure he's a really good guy, nothing about poor old Ben. But that sort of bloke, and what if they're not up to it in the sack?"
Another host questioned whether Negus was suggesting "that he could be a dud root?", to laughter from the audience.
But their flippant treatment of Corporal Roberts-Smith - who single-handedly stormed an enemy machine gun position in Afghanistan in 2010 - angered relatives of decorated war veterans as well as viewers, who flooded the television show's Facebook page with furious comments.
The show's treatment of Corporal Roberts-Smith also came under fire after the soldier revealed in a candid interview on Channel Seven's Sunday Night that he and his wife had conceived their twin daughters through IVF treatment.
I'm glad there has been this back-lash, it goes to show that "famous" women don't have the right to nonchalantly bad-mouth men.
This guy is a hero, he has served his country, amicably.
What has this young trollop done for her country?

Friggin' overpaid nonebrities whose life achievement is reading an autocue.
Sit several women (and a mangina or two) around a table and very soon even the best of men will be slagged-off, slandered, demeaned, disrespected and dismissed.
I strongly recommend that Cpl Roberts-Smith gives each a smack in the mouth, in public, on TV.Last edited by Percy; 29th-February-2012 at 06:09 AM.

Re: Female TV celebrity in trouble over sex slur
It's is disgraceful that a war hero can be the subject of such demeaning comments.
However, I would like to offer some perspective. This was on Channel 10, one of the lowest rating stations and not known for its quality programming. It was on 'The Circle', a trailer-trash afternoon programme watched by stay-at-home single mothers and unemployed bogans (chavs). The IQ of its presenters approximates their bust size. George Negus is an ex-60 Minutes reporter whose previous show was axed by the network last year due to low ratings, so he is desperate for some exposure.
So let's not get too concerned about the comments of a talentless, empty-headed bimbo and a pensionable has-been reporter. There are more important issues to worry about.Feminism : The world's most effective contraceptive.

Male commentators and such get fired all the time for making "questionable" comments. Women just get a little "naughty, naughty" finger wagging.

I don't always agree with certain wars, but I always back the average bloke who's sent to them 100%.
So, to summarize: she didn't know bugger all about the chap, yet felt she had free licence to make aspersions against his character purely based on a photo?
Some people might say we're being a little hard on her asking for punishment, but if we say nothing - the next man endures worse and we all suffer across a wider spectrum! Nip it in the bud there and then, and if you've the balls - make a scene of it and score some political points.Last edited by Celtic Druid; 29th-February-2012 at 09:49 AM.

I bring in my new favourite smiley pic as a reply to your question quoted above:

Unfortunately, this seems to be the issue - he's a war hero. That's why this has happened. That he's a man isn't part of the equation, unfortunately.
Exactly, but when men get fired for being 'sexist' against women (or a woman) - it is listed precisely as such. When women attack men (or a man) - no one bats an eyelid.►My blog / Your Blog

Wife : "And how much for the ones like mine?"
Husband : "That's where they held the auction."

Re: Female TV celebrity in trouble over sex slur
With all due respect; as a Vet I find this type of response quite distasteful. War is the grinder of men. Caring for our Vets has taken a nose dive in the past few years. You may or may not agree with the policies nor the war itself, but caring for the MEN that put their lives on the line everyday, so that folks like these readers - and you - can say what you want.... well. You're welcome.
And speaking of prospectives.....
Whitney Houston dead and flags are flown at half staff for her....she killed herself with drugs and booze....
Charlie Sheen is 45 and his story is all over the news because he is a substance abuser, an adulterer, sexually promiscuous and obnoxious.
Lindsay Lohan is 24 and her story is all over the news because she is a celebrity drug addict and thief.
Something as frivolous as Kim Kardashian's stupid wedding [and short-lived marriage] was shoved down our throats, yes we honor and publicize the TRASH.

Justus Bartett 27
Dave Santos 21
Jesse Reed 26
Matthew Johnson 21
Zachary Fisher 24
Brandon King 23
Christopher Goeke 23
and Sheldon Tate 27...
Are all US Marines that gave their lives last month for you. There is no nationwide coverage; not even a mention of their names.
How's THAT for fucking prospective...

The woman makes a valid point. One that I have heard from many vets personally. Many vets wonder why they bothered fighting for a cuntry that shits on them and shits on men as a whole too, often using the charateristics of brave men against them..

Re: Female TV celebrity in trouble over sex slur
TMOTS, I find no joy in saying what I am about to say. Yet, I feel it needs to be said. Soldiers do not fight for their country. And they certainly don't fight for anyone's freedom, especially the people back home. Our freedoms here in the USSA since 9/11 have gotten fewer and fewer. And military-vet cops with PTSD still act as though they are patrolling the streets of Baghdad.
But my objective is not to criticize vets. It's to be honest about WHY they fight: they are programmed by their culture to be used as cannon fodder and/or they have no other economic opportunities.
Regarding the media, yes what they do with vets is disturbing. But the MSM is part of the System. They were literally bought and sold a century ago. Displaying the graphic and heart-rending images and facts of war would not be good for the cause, i.e. The Military-et. al.-Industrial Complex. We should not be surprised when they do what you describe. It's their job.
I had an interesting conversation with a feminist in Korea once. She was blathering on and on about women's rights. I simply asked her if Korean feminists were fighting to make the military draft equal, meaning men would no longer be drafted, women would be drafted too, or only women would be drafted to make up for the years of men defending the ROK. She acted embarrassed, said "No", and changed the subject.
The best thing we can do for our freedom, military vets, and potential military vets is tell the truth about war.
Black Hawk Down last speech - YouTube
The thing is, if it really is just "about the men next to you", then why go through all that training and go overseas to fight in some war that you have no interest in just to fight and defend some guy you would have never known or cared about had you not joined the military? Why not just stay home and fight for the men next to you there?Last edited by Dylan MacVillain; 29th-February-2012 at 06:44 PM.

A wonderful post !!!
The reason that TRASH is pushed onto the public, is so that they will never stop, and ask serious questions about life.
In this day, no one dies for their country, rather, they die so that the ruling elite can make even more money !!!
The Iraq war was was obviously about OIL !!!
As Henry Kissinger famously said after Vietnam:
"Military men are just dumb stupid animals to be used as pawns in foreign policy".God kept His word and sent His Prophet in this day.
Judgement is coming, time is fast running out !!!
Do you know where you stand with God ?

Re: Female TV celebrity in trouble over sex slur
One of my close relatives is a vet of the gulf war and my advice to him when he wanted to join the army was "do it for your own personal reasons, as your own choice, do not delude yourself that you are fighting for your country or the folk in this cuntry because the godvernment is simply using men as a resource to fight the states battles".
The armed forces are always keen to get young men, as they know full well that when men are older, they are much wiser in many ways and may well be less willing to fight for their cuntry when they have experienced how their pussywhipped cuntry leaders prefers to fight its own men.."Women...

Regardless of politics and peoples stance on war, TMOTS demonstrated how the publics moral barometer is seriously adrift from what really matters in a positive, productive and functioning society.

HAH!
I squeezed in a comment.

Not surprising that these comments would come from a woman in a country that has proven itself to have an anti-male,anti-father agenda.
I am sorry for any man who dies for a country that hates them for their gender, yet expects them to do what the country asks.
