So let's not get too concerned about the comments of a talentless, empty-headed bimbo and a pensionable has-been reporter. There are more important issues to worry about.
    BB,
I think you're missing the point slightly here.
You and I might think this, but when you sit down and are fed this shit day in, day out, some people tend to believe it as reality, which any reasonable, thinking person would not.

This is why it is OK in so many women's minds that it is OK to be nasty to the male half of our population, because TV says it is OK.

I'd personally accept nothing less than this woman's sacking, as that is what would happen had the genders been reversed.
Mind you, who ever heard of a female war hero?

I am reminded of the Alisdair Thompson "affair" over here last year some time, where he (the CEO of Business NZ) made the awkward statement that "women were less productive because of their need to take time off around "that time of the month".

I'll never forget the response that came from all sides, pretty much demanding he be sacked and made an example of, because his "hatred towards women".

Sure, he did take the tiger by the tail by saying a stupid thing like that, but the response to that statement was often worse in some cases than what he originally said.

With respect, it is precisely because even the talentless bimbos and the lame-duck manginas can get away with this that I get very angry. This a significant part of the issues we worry about. This as an ANTI-MISANDRY site.
My point is that this ignorant bimbo is probably too dumb to have realised what she was saying. And let's be honest, they were DUMB ramblings! So while it is perfectly reasonable to condemn her for those comments, let's not go over the top. This would actually mean that we credit her with some intelligence. And remember, she's a Channel 10 presenter!!

Getting angry and protesting loudly is what feminits do. Let's not be like them, let's remain calm and maintain some dignity, just as Corporal Roberts-Smith has already done in rising above the controversy and putting this issue behind him.

I am more concerned about the feminising of the Australian military after watching the 7.30 Report last night, in which a senior army officer spoke of his concerns about the 'under representation' of women and ethnic groups in the armed forces. This sort of comment from an intelligent man IS worthy of anger and protest!

I think another issue is the double standard. If it was that both women and men were the targets of slurs equally, then it wouldn't be so bad. However, when only women are protected, it promotes the view that men are acceptable targets. If it's acceptable to make tasteless comments at the expense of a man, then it should be acceptable to do the same for women. If women are protected, then men should be protected. Either way, it needs to be consistent.

    More concerned?

I think it is high time women and 'ethnicly diverse' people shoulder their share of defense. The Army person you are angry with is mearly looking at a difficult issue. White men have been carrying everyone else for far too friggin' long.

Of even greater concern to me is the 'assumptions' about military culture when troops misbehave. That is the current hysteria in Oz. But it completly ignores the fact that most troops in the military are between 18 and 24 y/o. Their 'culture' is 18 years civilian, largely 'nurtured' and 'educated' by women, and just a few years in the military, which has the burden of undoing those 18 years of crap and instilling some manly virtue.

Then we have the overpaid bimbos and old leftie manginas, all nonebrities lacking a skerrick of dignity and honesty, casting demeaning remarks against the very type of chap who exemplifies those manly virtues; Intergity, Authenticity, Courage, Dignity.

against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. “
    (and within ourselves)
    (Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)

Simply because they lack the very qualities they demean in men.
