Free Press” - Are you serious ?

Speech by John Swinton, Chief of Staff of the New York Times and the "Dean of his Profession" in a toast before the New York Press Club, 1953:

"If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my paper, before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone.

The business of journalists is to destroy the truth; to pervert; to vilify; to fawn at the feet of mammon, and to sell this country and this race for their daily bread.

We are the tools and vessels for rich men behind the scenes.
We are the jumping jacks, they (The illuminati)pull the strings and we dance.

Our talents, our possibilities and our lives are all the property of other men.

    We are intellectual prostitutes."

God kept His word and sent His Prophet in this day.

Judgement is coming, time is fast running out !!!

Do you know where you stand with God ?

Anyone else think Godwin's Law is a way to stop people talking about these blatant similarities?
Godwin's law? Is that the one that says anything including "...for the safety of women and children..." is automatically a LIE?

I, for one, have never found shame for comparing national socialist atrocities to National Socialist atrocities, despite what some pundit may have opined.

it has been said that the basis of democracy is the right to a free press ... but is that same free press aiding the free fall into totalitarianism.-Nivek

"The right of free speech is assured to all who own a mjor news paper."

I think the police bracelet should have a star of David attached (or pink triangle), or maybe a big P in the middle of a white dot on a red background for patriarchy, and then we will have come full circle. The police can then have arm bands that are pink, that say "FF" for this is what a feminist friendly police force needs.

Godwin's Law, I believe, is that any argument along the lines of "this is how Nazi Germany started" automatically loses the debate. That making that point is automatically weak.

The obvious problem is that if you saw 20 Gestapo goose stepping down the street, no one could speak the obvious truth. And less obvious symptoms too.

Yes, Godwin's Law is about censorship. Each claim to "like Nazi Germany" should be judged on it's merits but as it stands, people will remain blind because they won't even check the parallels.

I think though, that blind is a comfort zone for most people.

Trouble with this device, is that like a lot of things that take place in America, eventually they make there way to the Uk.
Harriet Harman would love this to be part UK legislation.

Men would never stand back and allow women to be treated this way, why do women (who have the political power these days) stand back and allow men to be treated this way?

    Funny you should say that.

I am talking on DigitalSpy and the folks there (all from the UK) seem to think that just because America has VAWA, doesn't mean it will ever show up in the UK and that the UK must be more progressed than the US.

I introduced them to I-VAWA and all of a sudden, they think it sounds good.
