Well I don't follow American politics (for the most part), but to answer your latter question ("what of anti-feminists? Only "anti" when it suits them?") I'd have to say I'm anti-feminist all the time... But ONLY becuase of it's recurring misandry. If feminism had proven to be 95% about gaining true-equality and 5% misandry peppered around, I'd be a lot more comfortable. Sadly, the reality is that feminism is 60% misandry, 35% selective-equality and 5% true equality.

It was Palin's daughter who got herself pregnant and while the parents have some responsibility to carry, it nevertheless seems that they raised the kids with some standards. You can't win them all. 17 year olds make mistakes and so far they seem to be doing the right thing in wanting to keep the child. I am pretty sure that they are likely to give all the necessary support.

I don't give her a pussy pass. I have said wait and see.

Palin has a Downs child. Such children are usually a joy to look after. They are rarely any trouble as babies or as toddlers or as kids up to mid teen years. Most kids are as thick as two short planks until 15 anyway.

Fathers have been.

Women are supposed to be able to do anything a man can and better. So so many women say. Women can 'Multi-task', so they say (and imply that men can't. Hah !) If women do not think this then I want to hear them tell all the loud mouthed, hubristic women to shut the fuck up. They won't of course. They will just say it is sooooo hard.

The major issue for me is not whether Palin can do the job ( there have been a succession of damned fools doing it for my entire life) but whether the Republican Party is going to fight for Men, Fathers and families, or just carry on as they have been.

Remember this, the Republicans have been in power for 7 years and they have done fuck all to cut VAWA off at the knees. It is under the Rep watch that fathers have been nailed to the floor and wall. Many tens of thousands of kids have lost their fathers in that time. Judges have been jailing Fathers all that time.

I have been waiting for McCain and Palin to say something encouraging, but so far nothing.

Let's not the forget what the real issue is. These people are questioning her credibility as a parent because they got nothing else on her at the moment. They're afraid of her. They don't want her to take office for whatever reason. They certainly never question a woman's ability to juggle work and family when it's one of THEIR own, do they? Wasn't feminism about "HAVING IT ALL?"

I don't care whom the woman is or what the job is, a woman cannot both be a full-time mother and work a full-time job and do both well. Primary child-care will always be the responsiblity of mothers just as primary providision and protection will always be the responsibility of men.

As far a Palin's being a mother of an ill child and being the VP at the same time go, how much work does the VP really have to do anyways? Cast tie-breaking votes once in a while...Attend funerals in the president's stead...Besides, as we are constantly reminded, Palin is "hockey mom" which means she can do anything!

I can't claim to know much about Palin, but I do know smoke and mirrors when I see it. What I read in that article was nothing more than petty smear campaign.

Let me get this straight Tera. She can be responsible for being the Governor of Alaska and also responsible for managing the Missile Defense of the entire US. And she cannot be VP? Are you kidding Me? Get real. The 49th Alaska National Guard is responsible for NORAD's Air Defense Interception of ICBMs. It is on alert 24/7/365 and went on full alert when North Korea tested an ICBM capable of reaching the US. She already has top Secret Clearances with Homeland Security, in charge of the Alaskan Militia which is part of the counter terrorism plans of Homeland Security.

All of a Sudden the Leftists who had no problem with Sexual expression by Teenagers is accusing the Palins of being poor Parents. Hell their Daughter Bristol is nearly 18. So they accuse Sarah of lying about her pregnancy and trying to cover up that it is Bristol's baby, until photos appear of Sarah with the pregnancy bump. Now some of these Drug Brian Damaged 60s burn outs and Losers are demanding a DNA test. Could you imagine asking a Man to submit to such a test? If those Press members said this about my Daughters, there would be a mass shooting of them at some venue.

Bill Maher better never cross paths with Todd Palin. Maher may be in need of cosmetic surgery if he does. And that asshole Letterman insulting the children of Palin is over the top. Feminists only care about the Politically proper and correct Women. Others they could give a Shit about.

I think of course she can do it and it is probably mr Palins turn to stay at home and care for the children. They should have enought money so that housework is no problem anymore.

There has been a succession of total fuckwits serving as President for as long as I can remember. All of them have Presided over the destruction of the Family, the villification and dispossession of Men and the squandering of the Intellectual and Spiritual wealth of Westen civilisation.

There is barely anything left for McCain or Palin or anyone else to fuck up.

Does a VP actually do anything? I read somewhere that she will just go home and take care of her kids. Only if the president dies will she actually do work.

In recent Years the VP is part of the Crisis Management Team dealing with National Security Issues. The Joint Chiefs, DIA, CIA, NSA and other high level Directors are also a part of this team. Who manage National Security Crises like the Cuban Missile Crisis, or attacks on the Nation. In addition should the US come under attack the VP and Speaker of the House are immediately moved to Looking Glass, mobile command center operated by the USAF that can launch ICBMs by Sub, Land, and our Bombers.

She would be the next person to handle the "Football", in other words the Launch Codes to initiate a Counter Strike. With Russia becoming aggressive and showing intent to retake Eastern Europe, this is a very real potential.

The real argument is a simple one. Can Women run the US? According to Feminists only if they are of the Right politics and beholden to the Feminists at NOW, Emily's List, the Feminist Majority, NARAL etc. If they are Pro Life, Conservatives, Libertarians they cannot.
