Oh how many damn times do we here anti-feminist males spewing that bullshit when a women shows discontent about sexism? Oh, but let someone point out them showing discontent for sexism and they call it “justified” so I guess it goes like this in their minds:

A woman speaking out about discrimination: Playing the victim
A man speaking out against discrimination: Justified

Um, yea, what happened to that “logical” mind anti-feminist men claim to have?

One Yahoo!Answers member made a very valid point when he said:
“The people who say that feminism is no longer needed are
the people who thought it was never needed in the first place.”
Anti-feminists normally to have one of five reactions when faced with an inquiry which challenges their views:

1: Insult

2: Try to dodge the question

3: Blame someone/something else

4: Cite bias sources which support their views and are written by people who share their views

5: Make claims that they cannot back up thinking no one will second guess them

How many times have you heard the old “Women are weaker than men, it’s a biological fact” line spit out without any scientific proof to back it up? You want to know why men are normally stronger than women? It has nothing to do with biology or science, it has to do with how they are raised as well as how much media pressures women into dieting.

Let me explain:
Most little girls are encouraged to play with dolls and teddy bears as children, when their bodies are still developing, this carries over to their teen years when they are more encouraged to stay inside and learn how to cook and clean. Those activities do not promote muscle growth nor do they require much strength. As adults women are also greatly pressured to stay thin, which means dieting, and, here’s something most of the diets don’t tell you: Dieting reduces not only fat but also muscle mass! Since there is so much emphasis on how much a women weighs and what dress size she is instead of her overall health, most diets aimed at women are meant to reduce overall weight which means they are also losing muscle! All this bullshit about lighter, skinnier women being “healthy” is just helping keep women weaker!

(Dieting and muscle loss sources:
http://www.halls.md/fat/muscle.htm
http://www.diet-blog.com/archives/2006/09/13/exercise_for_weight_loss_tips_and_truths.php
http://www.netfit.co.uk/fatwei.htm )
Now about the boys, they are encouraged from youth to go outside, play sports, run around, climb trees, all of those muscle building activities which help shape their bodies for years to come. As men most diets aimed at them are based on muscle gain, not so much to help them lose weight but to help them replace that fat with muscle.

(Examples of diets aimed at men:
http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk...et_for_men.htm
The first article clearly says “men shouldn’t follow a diet designed for females” I wonder why? Maybe because the ones designed for women make them lose muscle mass?

http://www.annecollins.com/diet-plan-for-men.htm
A “1800-calorie” eating plan for men, compared to the “1100-calorie” eating plans the same website suggests for women. Basically less intake means less for the body to work with.)

I have used male diet programs with much success, lost less muscle mass (only about 5% of my weight lost was muscle, my doctor confirmed this) while a friend of mine, same age, also the same body build before dieting used one of those diet plans made for women. Guess what, after dieting she went to the doctor and found out that almost 30% of the weight she lost was muscle mass!

In short, the strength of a gender has no basis in biology but instead in social pressure, upbringing and by suggested (and pressured) dieting.

I have an idea. Let's be tolerant of them, practice debating with them, and try to show them the error of their ways.

Feminists have fragile female egos!!!!

Honestly, Victoria, when I first heard this new feminist assertion (after I managed to stop laughing) I assumed it was a joke....because nobody could really be that stupid. This is really making a leap from reality...even for feminism.

Gender differences are inherent. Fight it all you want, invent a plethora of ridiculous theories...whatever makes you feel better about things. I didn't encourage my children to play with anything, that didn't stop my daughter from gravitating towards everything pink and pretty from the day she was born.

I've worked with children. As very small children, boys are more active, louder, less articulate, more coordinated, and less emotional while girls are quieter, talk sooner, are less physical and more emotional. In the nursery I volunteer in, even though we are all completely aware of the inherent differences between boys and girls, we're still always amazed by how obvious and predictable they are.

I can only assume that people who buy into the above argument have never had children and if they have, that they are in a deeply rooted state of denial. I've said it before, but one need only be a casual observer of the sexes to know that gender differences are inherent.

No diet in the world will give the average women the strength of the average man. I know body builders, male and female. They both eat a diet that consists of mainly protein. They spend equal amounts of time in the gym. The women are roughly half the size of the men, because they are women.

Only feminists are bothered by the whole weaker sex thing. I'm 5'2 and weigh 108 lbs. I go to the gym and work out 3 times a week.....I'll never acquire anywhere near the strength or size of my husband. I'm o.k. with that. I embrace my femininity. I like being petite, I like that my husband is stronger than me I embrace our differences as man and woman.

"I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you're licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do."

You're correct Kim. Feminist will believe whatever they want to, the hell with the facts.

Thomas Jefferson once said "It takes time to persuade men to do even what is for their own good."

Feminuts are stupid, throw some common sense at them. They won't know what hit them.

Re: So, Victoria, Care To Back This Up?

The irony of sexism is that men and women both don't like it when it's aimed at them, yet we insist on accentuating (or emphasizing) our differences and then blaming the other sex for noticing those differences. What about the things we have in common?

I would say that ALL people have a tendency to do these things when their beliefs are challenged. We ALL get a bit defensive. This isn't exclusively a trait of anti=feminists, it's something we all are capable of doing. Takes a very level headed person to remain calm and objective.

Re: So, Victoria, Care To Back This Up?

Dieting isn't "designed" to keep anyone "weaker", that really is a big stretch. And I'd venture to say that social pressure from other women is stronger than pressure from males, to be "thin." It's the media's portrayal of rail thin Barbie dolls with breast augmentation surgeries that make women feel pressured to be thin. Trust me, there are guys who could care less about a few extra pounds on a woman. Some guys actually even prefer it. The media's "idealized view" (unrealistic view) of feminine beauty is the reason so many women are dieting, and have eating disorders, and are getting plastic surgery. The more women who jump on this bandwagon, the heavier the pressure to conform exists for the rest of us.
