question...
I decide to go on a feminist forum to get the other perspective, because that's what I would do. I am trying to be a better person and learn both sides. However what to I say to someone, a man, that tells me misandrism isn't real?
I know for a fact that is real but since this forum and their forums are two totally different planets, I want to be able to voice my opinion in a dignified manor.http://haruhiclse.livejournal.com/

Re: question...
The very fact misandry is denied as real demonstrates it's legitimate reality. They want you to continue sleeping and focus exclusively on half the issue whole ignoring the bigger picture.

Re: question...
Is it alright if I showed them your article on misandry? It isn't hurting only one man, it's hurting alot of men AND women...

Re: question...
If there is someone who hates women, there is bound to be someone who hates men. The world is getting worse, but it is restricted by the natural balancing act of nature.

Re: question...
It isn't clear what you mean. However, if you are refering to any article on this site, then sure - it's publically available information. Is it alright if I showed them your article on misandry?
The thing about misandry is that although it is widespread, society as a whole is blind to it. It is normalized, and even men themselves are blind to it. But when you are forced to confront it, only then does it become apparent.
An extreme example was the Sharon Osbourne thing on the "The Talk", where the panel discussed a 60 year old man who had been drugged and sexually mutilated by his wife (he had been trying to leave her). Not only did the panel find the incident funny (Sharon Osbourne described it as "hysterical"), but the general conclusion was that he probably deserved it. Under no circumstances would this have happened if the victim had been a woman.
Here's a much more subtle example. It shows staged arguments in public spaces between a male and female. Where the man is the aggressor, people are willing to step in and intervene. However, where the woman is the agressor, members of the public largely conclude that the man must have deserved it.

As a man, I am only just starting to wake up to this. But now I see it, and can pin-point examples throughout my life where I have experienced this kind of prejudice.THE LAST LEGIONARY

Re: question...
At the same thought tho', misgynist thought was the reason why most people see a woman hitting a man as not serious.
But yeah here's what I said:
I feel like I won't be listened to but feel me out. You can't say that misandry doesn't exist. It certainly does and it doesn't only happen to one man, it happens to many. There is a blog I found that talks about it and how it affects people, not just men. Like I said, our goal isn't to tear you apart, our goal is to stop double standards that are hurting people. Belive it or not, there are women who are outraged by misandry as well.

Most people who question the feminist ideology don't last.

Re: question...
This is something I've seen countless times on feminist forums.
One of the ways I try to demonstrate their innate misandry towards men is by asking them if they feel compelled to always blame men even for women's actions... They typically deny this, in fact, they always deny it. Then you see them claiming that women they disagree with must be men, male-trolls, male sock-puppets, etc. etc.
In one such case, I pointed out to a feminist that on feminist group had advocated castrating baby boys at birth. She didn't believe me. So I showed her the link. She then accused all those involved in that thread (on the other site) of being men with feminine-names. Can you believe it? And still, she denied blaming men for women's doings.
So you see, as a woman you can do no wrong. If you do wrong in their eyes, it's because you're a man. If you do right (agree with them) it's because you're a woman.►My blog / Your Blog

Re: question...
That's wrong. It kinda makes me wish I wasn't a girl. I mean, I feel like even people that I know, they would get upset with me for focusing on men's issues and I think it's because I am female, thus I should focus more on women's issues. If I was male and focusing on men's issues, they wouldn't care.

Re: question...
Alas, you're wrong on that. Society dictates that men and women alike should focus exclusively on women's issues and ignore men's issues. This is why we see breast-cancer awareness-campaigns all over the place but so little information on prostate cancer; why we see posters depicting male abusers & female victims but not the other way around; why we see help for FGM but no mention of MGM that occurs in the same countries; and so on and so on.
As a guy who takes an interest in men's rights - I've had numerous people practically disown me because supporting men is just not the done thing 'round these 'ere parts (i.e. the world).►My blog / Your Blog

Re: question...
There's no reason to feel that way. I'm just discovering how it feels to feel OK about being a man. I would hate for others to feel bad the other way around. It shouldn't have to be like that. That's wrong. It kinda makes me wish I wasn't a girl.
I've largely kept my MRM interests away from my personal/work life, however, when I do bring the subject up with friends, I get the impression that I would be regarded as an extremist if I told them my full views.I've had numerous people practically disown me because supporting men is just not the done thing 'round these 'ere parts (i.e. the world).THE LAST LEGIONARY

Re: question...
I think the extreme dissatisfaction a man experiences when he realizes how misandric the world is, how little the world cares about misandry and how much the world judges him for his dissatisfaction is what turns a man extreme. At least, this is the gist of it in my case. It isn't that they (who disagree) aren't extreme; they're just passive extremists.

When I do this, and I know I will, it will be comparable to the lame learning to walk, the blind being enabled to see and the suffocated breathing again. The sky isn't the limit; there are no limits.

Re: question...
I think few men ever realise that. That's the problem.I think the extreme dissatisfaction a man experiences when he realizes how misandric the world is, how little the world cares about misandry and how much the world judges him for his dissatisfaction is what turns a man extreme.
They don't define themselves as men, so they don't see misandry affecting them. They define themselves as something else--a husband, a father, a police officer, and IT specialist etc, anything but a man. And when the relationship ends, or they're no longer respected in their job role, then they have little to hold on to.THE LAST LEGIONARY
