Re: Is/was patriarchy really that bad of a system?

The thing that I know that is going to make life hell on earth for everyone is this;

Parent's give emotional support to children. Mum gives gifts and dad gives gifts that are emotionally connected to a child.

The UN considers a child's right and a child's needs to consist of the basics such as food, roof over their head and education. So does every child youth and family office.

Never does it consider emotions. Nowhere is it acknowledged because communism for the child won't work if you consider emotions.

I can say and write things bad about my ex but I have just as many flaws that kept me suffering within myself. If my kids were on this site they would give a picture of 2 parents who equally did wrong and they don't let me off the hook. (just had to add this bit in fairness)

But on another note we are able to do well regardless because the family unit itself has the greatness of loyalty, commitment, security, unconditional love (very few available stones to throw in this family) and plus others. One being; Our children will do better than we did.

We are up there as the worst and yet the best. Yet through all our experiences I can tell everyone with a straight face that feminisms way of raising children by the state is the worst thing you can do.

Women's groups and even children's groups are beside themselves as to what to do with mothers and women in general. Being a victim was the worst thing in the long run to give to women. They don't even know how to care for their children and they don't have to so they don't want to. And then they put their hand out: More please. More, more, more. (generalising BTW)

The Patriarchy is the only way for the long term. Regardless of imperfections. Society once shunned bad behaviour and that in itself kept families in line; but now anything goes. Everything is good. Better to give positive feedback they say. Everyone's a winner they say. Let's not hurt FEELINGS they say. Let's fix equality. Let's just give for free without having to earn.

................

One of the things that is amazing some feminists I know of is this also;

Women are choosing their class to be in. And they are digging in their toes to change. Some want the high class and some can't stand it. Every class has things to offer. Mind you middle class barely exists any more.

One feminist explained to me that NZ is made up of the fourth sons. That there was expectations on the first son to do certain things and the second and the third and the fourth had no expectations. So they came to NZ and made up for what they didn't get. Thus the push for them to be equal in their minds and thus the force onto the next generation.

I think discussions over feminisms and the 60's movement is going in many directions.

Re: Is/was patriarchy really that bad of a system?

Children need both their parents. That's the main thing. What's the point of having kids and getting married, when divorce is the most likely outcome? When my parents were together, they were both working... so I hardly think my mother was suffering under the patriarchy, or was oppressed in any way. If anything, she was free to do as she pleased, while the rest of us get the shit-end of the stick. Is it because of a matriarchy or a patriarchy? is it because of Feminism? I'd really like to know what is going on, so I can destroy it.

Re: Is/was patriarchy really that bad of a system?

MadShangi,

There is so much going on but at the end of the day what really is going on is a movement towards humanity. This of course is the social movement.

Equality for all in all it's glory and intellectual consideration.

What was once simple was called, "Love". Love to for all humankind. Everyone in the world should have clean water and food and shelter as a bare minimum. So simple and yet so complicated. Each group has it's own leaders and the leaders make decisions based on agendas. For instance: Feminism has hit Africa quite big. You would think that feminism would be working towards clean water and health and food and shelter yet it is working at abortions and other means to control the birth rate. Sadly, these type of women leaders are hateful not just for the fact that they bring forward their ideology that men have oppressed women for 1000's of years but for the fact that killing babies makes you become very numb to love.

Then there is the business movement which is great when you consider they have an obligation to spend money in the communities. Yet these get hijacked by lobby groups. Such as women's groups.

And then there is the vote and power for leaders as politicians. Whoever can get a politician in to get their own personal agenda through will bargain thus be blackmail. Once again women's groups hold the most power.

And then you have the corporations and evil men and women in the world who only care for their own agenda. Once again women's groups are popular for they put all men, women and children to work. (profits are great)

And then on top of all this you have major billionaires who have started foster care agencies and orphanages ready and waiting to raise the children. All their work is done as a contract to Governments and works on making a profit so they will use intelligence to promote more children being raised by the state.

And then on top of all that you have people with consciences saying, "Where are the brakes. C'mon all, we must backtrack". But no-one can backtrack because no-one will take the blame.

So we are basically riding a run a way train.

PS. I am quite mad. Some others would be better to explain things to you. And if you stay and keep a part of this site you will pick it all up.

Nice to have you here.

Re: Is/was patriarchy really that bad of a system?

Yes it was, and it was very grim for many men and women. It legalised abuse and it trapped people in slave-like conditions, and it turned children into a personal possession that men could trade. It also perpetuates dysfunctionality across the generations as it's built on power and not on love.

Be very glad we ditched this inhumane insanity, our next task is to get control of the situation with the matriarchs, who are just as naff as the patriarchs were.

Re: Is/was patriarchy really that bad of a system?

No it wasn't a bad system. It had it's flaws yes but I think those flaws were do to a poor understanding of humanity not a desire to keep anybody down.

I think that with the flawed knowledge that was available many thought that women were inferior not out of spite but because they didn't know any better.

But at least people were taught self control and to think about the outcomes of their actions rather than to just throw responsibility to the winds like we do now.

For example in days gone by people looked up to and respected others who were selfless and giving.

Now people only respect the person who gets what they want by any means necassary to further their own goals.

It is sad really that in a time when people are claiming to be progressive in the pursuit of individuality they forget they are part of the human race and begin thinking of themselves as an entire universe unto themselves where only their desire matter and no form of selfrestraint is neccassary.

Julie, welcome back. You drank all the Kava and swallowed all the happy pills, ranted obscurely for a few weeks, offended everyone in sight, declared Love and devotion like a remorseful drunk, passed out for a few weeks and now the old noggin is clear again.

I have tried all my life to leave the place better than I found it.
But there are 6 billion other buggers out there messing it up.
I am outnumbered.
But...
YOU don't just make a difference,
you make THE difference.

That seems like the typical personality trait requirement of some other boards she's become a regular at...
