Personally, I believe women should be in the military. Currently I'm a cadet, training to be an officer. I can pass male PFTs, and I'm pilot qualified. I want to fly Apache helicopters once commisioned. Why shouldn't I be allowed? With all the anti-feminist hoopla I've encountered on Myspace I find it difficult to find a decent rational explanation why antifeminists feel the way they do.

I've not come across many MRA's/AF's who feel women shouldn't be allowed in the military. Feminists are so keen on equality, then women too can lay their life on the line for their country just as men are forced to.

This generation (in the US) has not been forced to lay their lives on the line for their country (granted the draft became a distinct possibility during the beginning of Desert Storm Part II). From what I've heard, Congress has recently attempted to pass a bill that would take all women out of combat positions (which would have taken women out of combat arms aviation). I'm attempting to determine the method to their maddness. I have seen plenty MRA/AF against female soldiers (esp AF). If you want equality, here it is...don't blow it.

True, this generation haven't faced draft - but then this generation of women haven't faced no vote - but we still hear about it daily...

Now hold on a moment, i'm sure we can find something to argue about, can't we? ![]() Glad it was easier than expected - good to meet you, Dani. You'd be welcome for further discussions.

It's worth noting though, I'm not the only person on this forum. As our interaction was somewhat fast paced, not many others had the opportunity to see it - letalone respond. I certainly don't speak for all members here in my opinion, it is just that; my opinion. So, with that - it might be worth checking back in a day or two for other folks' input on this discussion.

Far from it! I am an antifeminist, and I strongly believe women should be in the army, and, further, that they should also be drafted if men are to be so easily (though drafting in itself I do not agree with!) My reasoning is as follows: All persons who are physically and mentally able to be in the armed forces, should, quite simply, be allowed to be involved And that means front line too No bullshit No exemptions, i.e. 'but women are weaker' And no deviation Now, when I was growing up I read a lot of history books, watched numerous documentaries and talked at length with my grandfather I learnt that the course of history dictated that men were required to put their lives on the line, whether or not they wanted to In many cases, especially in wartime, if men refused they were jailed, laughed at, mocked, presented with white feathers and scorned at throughout their community Women never had to make such sacrifices or face such scrutiny Further, this type of discrimination against men is most unfair, and, to top it of, sends the message that men are second-class citizens and easily dispensible Why the hell should women be allowed to escape this burden men have had to endure for centuries? I can't think of any Apart from, that is, chivalrous stupidity that drives the insane notion that men are disposable, and that women should always be protected In fact, I've mentioned this issue before on my blog as it is of particular interest to me So here you have another man (me) stepping forward and telling you explicitly that women should most definately be in the army

First off I'd like to make it clear that I personally have no problem with the principle of women being in the military. That said, if you are looking for reasons why some people have issues with it, look no further than Major Toms post in the News Articles. http://www.forum.mathews.me.uk/viewt...e8ada52b42f6ee Now clearly sexual assault and true harrasment are wrong and should be stamped out, but look at the way this article is presented. We are talking about things that are "found offensive", offensive is such an emotive word it really could mean any behaviour. "sexualised behaviour", ranging from jokes to assaults Jokes ? I'm afraid you have to be a bit tougher than that in the army. Or are we going to have entire units on the battlefield left "particularly upset" by an artillery of offensive jokes from the enemy ? "It is clear from the research we have conducted that we have a problem with which we must deal urgently," Is this a waste of resources ? This is the sort of stuff that gets peoples backs up.

I think if women are going to achieve equality they must be drafted and sent to the front. No special priviledges. But I can't help it if I have a distrust of the average female doing things that they weren't designed to do or expecting one to cover my back on the battlefield. Sure call me Misowhatever but I know many women are not very coordinated and are not emotionally or physically equiped to handle certain things as well as a man. This is not to say that some women can't handle these things. Maybe 'Female Squads' only on the line. But it's life and death and I would rather not have 120lb weakling covering my ass unless I'm in a foxhole with a boner. Which would be unlikely during battle. I certainly don't want to depend on one of these to carry off me off a battelfild if my lifeblood was pouring out of me. I don't think enough women will desire front line positions and the issue will never fly. But the feminuts want women to be in charge of everything and over the soldiers. That I totally disagree with. Female Nurses are more than welcome.
