My goodness, I watched it back in the 80s when it was 'fresh' in England (to my knowledge, at least), but having seen a sketch or two in the last five or so years, i could barely believe how terribly wooden it all was.

I ended up working with this woman at Wrekin Construction, when we found out about her conviction I was disgusted. It was a totally irrational disgust and hatred and I was horrified to think that she'd seen pictures of my children on my desk... even though she couldn't harm them I was more concerned about the WAY she viewed children.

When she came to us, she was calling herself JUDY Lowe, but her crimes against children soon came to light and she left when it was made clear by all of her colleagues that nobody wanted to work near her, let alone with her. I hope this sentence follows her around and her sentence can continue through all of her future relationships, both privately and professionally.

When a person has a paraphilia for children(pedophilia is pre-pubescent children, hebephilia is early pubescent teens, and ephebophilia is any teen older than 14), it's often because the part of their brain that is wired for parenting/nurturing is also wired to the part of their brain that is connected to sexuality. There is a difference between one who simply was sexually abusing a child and who has a genuine paraphilia for young people. The woman mentioned in the article is very likely to have a genuine paraphilia for young people(in my professional opinion), but that still doesn't make it acceptable. Just because you have a paraphilia doesn't make it ok to have sex with something that can't give consent, I might have a paraphilia myself but I practice it with a partner that is able to give consent and that's the key thing, the ability to consent. Many young people are unable to grasp that they are giving consent to a sexual behavior because they are unaware of what the behavior actually is. This leads to hurt children that will be marked for the rest of their lives.

I'd say pretty much everyone has some kind of paraphilia, but a lot of them are considered "normal." Then again, a lot aren't. And a lot are unfairly considered quite sick.

Men produce more testosterone than women. It is the chemical that produces urges of fantasies and wants. When a man is not psychologically stable, with high testosterone levels he will most likely develop a sexual problem. Depending on the psychological state of that man, he may have minor sexual issues, such as visiting strip clubs daily, or only having consensual sex with women that look alike. If his psyche is extremely unstable then he might develop a very dangerous sexual tendency, such as rape, forced intercourse or even worse, child pornography. This isn't to say that women don't have paraphilias either(often from producing more testosterone), but they are more common in men than women. Why do you think that there are more kinky men than kinky women?

This. Many of them are very misunderstood by the majority of people. As a sexual sadist, I expect to face stigma when I'm open about my desire to cause pain and humilate my husband during sex. My husband is a sexual masochist and will face stigma for being open about his desire for pain and humilation during sex. But I also know people who are into exhibitionism and voyeurism that face stigma for the obvious reasons.

Do you have a study or article which confirms that Paraphilia is more common among men? What percentage of the population suffers from Paraphilia?
