I don't think it's really sexist to say that men are more likely to be into something unusual, sexually. And I do think that the more common paraphilias(related to BDSM and things not far out there) are more likely to be more evenly distributed. As for pedophilia(and related paraphilias) specifically, I also think it's important to distinguish that there is a difference between one who just sexually assaulted a minor and a true blue pedophiliac(or related -philiac). One does it for power and the other is attracted to minors.

You know, in my youth I was really embarrassed by my kinks. It wasn't until I hit my mid 20s that I openly explored this darker side of myself with an ex-girlfriend (though current at that time). Sadly, she made only minimal efforts in it. What surprised me though was she had an even stranger one than I had, which I won't divulge. Later, I married a woman who made a lot of effort in the bedroom and really went to town, so to speak. She always claimed she didn't have any kinks but didn't mind engaging with mine for my benefit. Only after we divorced did she confess that she had a thing for being strangled while bumping uglies. My first girlfriend had an odd kink too - nothing too bizarre. Looking around at my experiences, accounting I've only engaged in long term relationships so only have a handful of women to consider - but I agree with DS - women are just as much into weird shit as any man... BUT I think they hide it better from society. A man will talk openly with his mates about stuff, women don't.
