    The fish and the bicycle

Another interesting post seen on feministing:

[Men] just hate being blamed for everything bad in society. If you ask me, man-hating has increased since the Second Wave, where it was a hot anger. Now it's a cold hatred, plus a ridiculous assertion of women's moral superiority over men.

"If I were a man, I would soundly object to the very implication that women are morally superior to men."
    --Betty Friedan

"I believe that women have a capacity for compassion and understanding that a man structurally does not have. He's just not capable of it."
    --Barbara Jordan

Yeah, we feel really uncomfortable calling ourselves feminists when it's considered sexist for a man to claim that women do need men or that men don't need women, yet it's not sexist for a woman to say that men need women, but women don't need men. The mantra "A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle" isn't going to recruit the other half of the human race to your cause, because it tells us that not only are we unnecessary to you, we're also irrelevant.

The men's and fathers' movement needs to make sure it never sees females as the enemy,
but only misandry--whether from females or from males.
If not, we'll become like the bigoted feminists that this movement was formed to oppose.

By now, it should be clear to all anti misandrists that the feminist who are spouting that sort of verbal nonsense will, in the end, backfire on them and will realise, only when it is too late to do anything about it (like now), their achievements will amount to a major minus in womens life.

At best they will end up with some old friend patting each others back and lamenting how unfair life has been to them.

You may say "they'll have the children and grand children to enjoy". The fact is boys become men and leave the home because they can't stand life with a single mother. This is of course product of a disfunctional marriage and divorce. Women should realise how much boys hate to live without their fathers (at least that is so in my case).

They'll end up lonely and often despised by their own brood for making their own family such an utter mess.

He said he was tired of the types of men AM was attracting.. and I understood what he meant. He and I still talk to one another on occasion.

The most offensive thing you can do to a feminist is treat her with FULL equality.

It seems to me normal that some people would go native as it's normal that extreme philosophies appear to be all basically the same..'all for me and nothing for you'
