well the CSA found me at my job and they want 160 pounds a week for 2 kids i only earn £400 a week and now i cant afford to pay my rent

so i have to go on the dole and claim housing benift

im not a sciver but its alll i can do to look after my family now

its a bad world when u have to stop work to survive

In the US they would send you to debtor's prison for losing your job and not paying the C$. Your living on the street is not their problem.

Of course, in debtor's prison, you would have a place to live.

Though I have not gone after my ex for child support, apparently the state is doing this in my stead. I just got this letter (will exclude names for the sake of anonymity):

Dear __________:

The Washington State Office of Support Enforcement has referred your case to this office for proceedings in court to attempt to collect child support. Your case is being handled initially by our Contempt Intake and Filing Unit. After our process is underway, the case may be transferred to a litigation team to be assigned later.

SERVICE OF PROCESS ON THE RESPONDENT

The court action we will be starting is a civil contempt-of-court proceeding, in which will be the "Respondent." We will, if necessary, obtain from the court an Order to Show Cause requiring him to appear in court on a certain date and show good cause why he should not be found in contempt of court for failing to pay child support as previously ordered. It may be necessary to serve an Order to Show Cause directly on Mr. ______ before the court will have jurisdiction to hear the case; if so, we will at that time mail you copies of the documents we prepare for service.

Attempts to serve papers on respondents are often unsuccessful. If service is not made, a new court date must be set and further attempts made to serve papers. This process may be repeated several times before service is successful, and that may take several months. It is also common that respondents fail to appear for court after being served. If that happens, a bench warrant may be issued and turned over to the Sheriff's Office. It can be several weeks, or months, before the respondent is arrested on the warrant.

CIVIL CONTEMPT PROCEEDINGS

Once the case gets to court, the contempt process is ongoing. The ultimate sanction, time in jail, is almost never ordered immediately. After the first court hearing, it is common to set regular review dates, which enable the office to monitor the respondent's compliance with the court's orders. It is not necessary for you (meaning me) to attend court hearings. In fact, many matters are handled informally outside the court. Our ultimate goal is to get current support paid each and every month, together with payments on the back support debt. You must realize that this probably will not be easy. Generally, there has been a long history of non-payment before the case is referred to this office, and many issues must be resolved before payments will be made regularly. It also must be remembered that respondents have rights to due process which must be respected and which may cause delays.

Oh and BTW....my divorce became final in 2001. This letter was received about two weeks ago....SEVEN YEARS later. During which time I have not received a single dime of child support for our three kids. And I did not and have not gone after him for the money.

I haven't received a single dollar toward the support of our three kids in seven years. And despite whatever "efforts" the state is trying to make on the behalf of our children, I doubt I'll ever see a single dime in the future. I struggle to make ends meet. I'm back in school so I can get a decent job to support these kids. And my ex is working under the table, lying about his income (claiming to have none) while partying it up with his friends getting high on meth and doing whatever the hell he pleases. On top of that, he doesn't make any effort to see his kids. No phone calls, no letters, nothing. And I've said this before, but I drive them over 100 miles to see his stupid ass and he drops them off at his parents' house when he has them, and leaves. I suppose that's for the best, really, all things considered.

What irritates me is this: feminism does cause problems in society, but it is not the cause of EVERY problem. Some people do a perfectly fine job of screwing up their own lives, pure and simple, and really have no one to blame but themselves. My ex is not a victim of feminism. He's just a poor excuse for a human being. He could act like a decent father but he chooses not to because he's extraordinarily selfish.

I'm gonna go running back to a guy who's whole idea of quality family life was getting drunk, being verbally abusive, and being high on meth for days at a time. I'm gonna go running back to having NO LIFE, no freedom whatsoever, and a husband who literally followed me to the grocery store because his jealous, paranoid, unstable mind caused him to think that every time I stepped out of the house I was going to cheat on him. I'm gonna go running back to a man who saw fit to choose my outfits for me, someone who never let me out of the house with friends. Someone who made my life and the lives of our kids a living hell. Yeah, Bob. Can't wait to go running back to that to beg him to contribute just a token donation to the well being of the children he helped bring into this world.

I have said it many times before - BOTH parents are wholly and totally, jointly and severally, accountable for raising and maintaining their children.

Sometimes one has to do it alone, when their spouse dies. Deliberately avoiding one's duty is not on.

Crikey, Mike, that's $45,000 pa over here, the average wage. It usually provides for a family of four with a mortgage. After your 160 is paid to your children, you have considerably more left than I have to live on. If you can't live on that, where on earth do you live, Dubai?

listen ...... yes ive gone on the dole but i am having monies taken streight out of my wages what i need to survive.

i was paying for my kids as much as i could and she has remarried and is with somwone who is more than able to provide for them and they also have another child.

i have remarried and are providing for the family i am with. whos farther donsnt provide for them.

dose any of this get taken in to concideration while the gioverment decide whos life they are going to screw up this week......

no they dont because all they want to be seen doing is taking monies from somone for being an parent whos not there.

4 i havnt seen my children now for 14mths and now shes stoped me from phoning them
