Quarter of children 'do not see dad as part of immediate family'

One in four children do not see their fathers as part of their immediate family, according to a survey.
Their mothers' roles were crucial - 96 per cent named their mother when asked to say who was in their immediate family.
But 26 per cent said they did not consider their father was part of that group.
The survey of 1,000 youngsters, aged 6-12, from around England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland was commissioned to mark the 35th anniversary of the BBC children's programme Newsround.
It found the vast majority described themselves as 'happy', although a significant minority would like to change the way they look.
There was good news for parents worried about children growing fat by spending too much time playing computer games.
Nearly 60 per cent said they preferred to play outside. One in ten however, said they felt unsafe on the streets.
The children's top priorities were being kind, good at sport, intelligent - and rich.
Educational success was less important, although 76 per cent said they enjoyed school.

Re: Quarter of children 'do not see dad as part of immediate family'

So very sad. What a reflection of the sort of 'empathy' that has been 'nurtured' by our feminist society. Mother is the centre of the world, no doubt a place that mother enjoys occupying, having pushed dad to the outer edges of the galaxy.

Re: Quarter of children 'do not see dad as part of immediate family'

What's really sad is that a good percentage of single mothers see no issue with their children having no father around. While waiting to pick up my child at school I overheard one talking about "my new boyfriend." No stability.

I never met my biological father...but since my stepfather adopted me, I at least had A father around!

I can't imagine having my son and having guys in and out like it's a revolving door. I'm glad I'm able to give my little boy a stable home...my husband and I had been married for 8 years by the time he was born. We both love our son very much.

That's probably because at least a quarter of all Dads have been officially removed from the family by the State and its Courts.

Every time you turn on your television you are leaving yourself exposed to the feminist agenda. Every time you listen to pop music the feminist agenda is being blasted out of the speakers.

'No-Fault' of the dad's either in 80% of the cases. Unilateral divorce, enforced on the innocent by the State.

Indeed, a disgrace to the western world and good reason for the feminazi's to hang their heads in shame, but, they probably see it as a victory..

Lets face it, those men will be out working extra overtime to pay their state enforced fines on fatherhood to the Chancellors Support Agency..

Re: Quarter of children 'do not see dad as part of immediate family'

They didn't post my comment at the Mail. Hardly a surprise, I am regularly censored, although I don't use offensive language. It must be my ideas that are unacceptable in mainstream blinkered society.

My comment was that the UK government must have been very disappointed that after ten years of virulent father-bashing, they had only succeeded in inducing a quarter of kids to regard their own fathers as irrelevant nobodies. That means that at this rate, it will take them another 30 years to achieve their ultimate objective - the removal of all fathers from families. Still, they won't stop trying...

Re: Quarter of children 'do not see dad as part of immediate family'

It goes without saying that because of bias in the media, and the BBC is as bad as it gets, that these children probably arent near as well-adjusted and "happy" with no fatherly presence as the report would lead you to believe, especially the boys. But its depressing no matter how you slice it.But thats what the femicommies wanted,to drive out dad, break up the family.I dont know whats worse,to see dads driven out of their children`s lives by vindictive moms and family courts,or to see children conceived and raised with no father to begin with.

Re: Quarter of children 'do not see dad as part of immediate family'

Percy you mention women and 'empathy' together, I m beggining to wonder if women actually have this trait, as far as I am concerned it is a male preserve though usually called by a different name or reference (I know where your comming from, I feel for you, etc etc as opposed to I understand and feel your emotional pain) since women have stolen the word empathy as they say it belongs to them.

The ammount of times I see women respond to children with loud and false verbal "oh no thats terrible" no real emotion because they have none but feel because they are women they must over egg the issue or show some form of connection with their "empathy".

as for the survey itwas a survey by the BBC I cant imagin it being very "scientific" I think at one stage children said they prefered being at school as opposed to the family. I also note the BBC has not forwarded the full "research " document report for review. Betsey stanko did a survey and that turned out to be "slightly" biased.

Re: Quarter of children 'do not see dad as part of immediate family'

ps
its ironic that children see their mothers as number one when women would probably endure more pain for their best friend then immidiate family. Findings based on a study that looked at the basis of altruistic behaviour which found that men put all family members ahead of friends.
The work was carried out by Psychologist Elainie Madsen of the University of St Andrews, UK, and colleagues which had 137 participants. Her and her female cllegues though drew very women centred conclusions to expain this

"Women have to get along with everybody - including their mothers-in-law," "is that females are just more social". I think the
researchers are clouded by preconceptions in their conclusions, well heres mine, men would sacrifice and endure more for their family women will not, they are really more interested in thier friends then family but pretend the opposite.

I'm sure you are right. The bizarreness of some 'research' outcomes is astounding, in that women always seem to have some 'positive' explanation for the most awful things about them. I even read a report on something or other which opined that women lie such a lot more than men in order to make social ease. !! Friggin' amazing. It couldn't just say women lie more than men because they are lying toads, which is about all one can say, frankly.
