You wanted an explanation, that is it. I just happen to like Greek philosophy, it was a period of true fascination with the truth, for nothing other than the beauty of truth itself.

I'm sorry I picked this name, if tell me how to change it I will. And I am no practitioner of sophistry, though I described the tactic used above. My approach is hard headed, loud, forceful and I don't particuarly care for political correctness. I usually state what I believe to be the truth of the matter and you are free to say what you will of it.

And if you think I am some mangina amongst you attempting to cause dissension, what would prove otherwise. If you want to know what sort of person I am, I am a university student from rural Australia who grew up with the conflicts between the masculine lifestyle of the man of the land and the PC correctness I heard on TV. Since I was far smarter than any of my mates (not hard in a small town) I actually sought answers from what I thought were reliable sources and that only led to more discontentment. I have also been annoyed by feminists and political correctness, but consider them nothing more than harmless fools, until recently. Then, through a twisted trail, I stumbled onto this site, and after viewing so many threads I was told I needed to sign up. I used the name Sophistry because it is similar to a name I use on various other message boards (not concerned with such serious issues as this one is). The reasons behind the name are not applicable to this forum, but to different forums.

Re: One in five CSA mothers name the wrong father

Well I'm happy with your answer Sophistry, as I'm a huge admirer of Socrates as well (as I devoted a long chapter in my book to him). Are you familiar with his order of souls? As my name is taken from his second best soul.

The way to show everyone here you are for real is to do as you want, and that is to speak directly of truth and you will do nicely. The foxes (or weasels) are not welcome, and your name (as you know) speaks of those who helped to kill your admired lover of truth, and represents the PC class all too well today.

I'm in fact a bit taken a back by someone so unfashionable as to like the period of antiquity, as that is also my most studied area, though it is too huge to know it all.

To deal with me is to avoid the clouds as much as possible as I have a pet peeve with philosophical forums, as they joust in the clouds and are sick with modern ideas that have little to deal with truth, as they are taken by the French disease of deconstructionism (modern sophistry).

I'm here at AM for I'm interested in the mud and guts of no-man's-land, that men find themselves in again in this new century, and have little time for cork dorks in the clouds. I hope you are as you say, as I would like to have an ally to pass on the wisdom and manly ideas of that period to those who know not of it. Or to get in good debates that will help find what we need to understand.

Look forward to your efforts.

Re: One in five CSA mothers name the wrong father

Right here in Australia just a couple of years ago a guy had one of these DNA tests done on a child that he had paid $A80 000 in maintenance payments

of course he wasn't the father the wimin was the town lay and picked his name with a pin

so he sued her and won to have the maintenance payments repaid the only provision the court pased was that it was to be at a rate of $A2 / week

the wimin was accosted by the TV reporter and asked why she had cited the guy as the father !

the wimin replied and said "he might have been" and then slammed the door in the face of the camera crew

I thought this was too rude and she should sue the crew for everythng she could get outta dem

1. Though VB is not a bad drop, and if I'm at a watering hole I wouldn't say no to a shout of the stuff, I much prefer Toohey's Old.

2. Shit. Pretty much the same as a feminist's armpit probably smells, though I wouldn't want to get close enough to find out.

3. Redbacks, funnelwebs, browns, red belly blacks, and you should really watch out in case there is a long drop. Also, see answer 2.

4. The true liquid gold of Australia. This is assuming you are talking about the Cubby station located in the land of the cane toad. I thought you were from that little insular family estate of the South coast of Vic.

5. Buggered if I know. Buggered if anybody else really knows what the hell he is saying either.

6. I don't know a thing about Ferguson, other than that he is a pollie, so I'm going with the same answer as above.

7. Our physics department is working on this problem now. We believe that many of life's most puzzling answers may be solved by getting the exact length of this schnoz. However, there is also a theory that this thing has the pinocchio like tendency to grow with each lie told by her. The upside is that at least the nose takes the focus off the rest of her face.

Naturally, I called this test a crock and cheated.

1. If you want to drink a pro-male beer, go for Toohey's. I haven't seen a company more proud of their male customer base ever. Visit http://fortheloveofbeer.com.au

2. Probably beer and peanuts.

Re: One in five CSA mothers name the wrong father

I think most women who name the wrong father do so knowingly.

The first experience I ever had with this? I was sixteen and had a friend who got pregnant by a one night stand.

She claimed she knew exactly who the father was. Swore up and down it was "Brian". Brian claimed he was not the father and that she was just trying to pin this baby on him. Of course, nobody believed him. His name was MUD in the town we lived it. She cried and lamented about what a horrible person he was. How was she going to raise this baby all be herself? She and her baby needed him!

He got a dna test as soon as he baby was born (and back then they were rather expensive). Of course, it was not his baby.

We were all shocked. Why would she lie???

Well, Brian was good looking, popular, had a car and a job... She wanted him!

I asked her if she knew who the real father was and she said she did. However, she did not want that guy... He wasn't as cool or nice looking as Brian...

Seems she really did not need a her baby's daddy that badly after all... She could have asked the real father for help but decided he would cramp her style... So she opted to do it on her own...

That experience really opened my eyes.

Why wouldn't he have lied, could be the shock for many?

I think many of us will have witnessed similar scenarios. It is indeed a sad state of affairs where women can literally choose who will be the Daddy of their baby, regardless of biology (nature/DNA,etc.)

Out of the gloom a voice spake unto me. 'Smile and be happy, Things could get worse."
So I smiled and was happy, and behold... Things did get worse.
