Mothers to name and shame absent fathers

Single mothers will be invited to name and shame fathers who fail to support their children.

Letters are going out to around 100 parents - almost all of them mothers - asking if they want their former partner's name to be included on an online list of people who have dodged maintenance payments.
The move came as Work and Pensions Secretary John Hutton published a Bill to replace the crisis-plagued Child Support Agency with a new commission with tougher powers to make absent parents pay.
The Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission (C-MEC) will be able to deduct cash direct from non-payers' bank accounts, as well as take away their passports and impose curfews on them if they fail to support their children.

This sounds so easy and so logical, but in reality it is very difficult to prove in court, that a mother is obstructing father's visitation rights.
On the other side, payments are easy to control.

Here in Japan we have a different regulation, or better said no regulation at all, there is no child support and there is no visitation right.

Usually, in Japan, if a father wants to see his children, the mother will ask him to bring money. If not, the door remains locked.

This works better as you might think, usually relatives or friends will help out, are bringing the children to a neutral place, like a family restaurant and take the money in cash for the mother.

The future in US/EU/UK will be different from the situation now, fathers and their children are getting older, and young men are not interested in marriage/family/children anymore. The number of fathers will more and more decline.

The risk is not worth it.

It is sad to say this, as I am married since over 30 years and have already 2 grown-up daughters.
Girl no. 3 is a Filipina, 12 years old, and a foster-girl. No financially obligation for me. Not living with me.

My advice, NO MARRIAGE, NO CHILDREN, NO ADOPTION but if you like to help children there are many possibilities - never sign anything, sponsorship only, if you have a personal contact with the child. No contact - no money.
Make sure, your money is used for the child and not taken by an organization or by relatives etc., who should take care.
