The institute for fiscal studies research states that marriage in itself confers no benefit on children, challenging Tory policy on nuclear family.

Marriage confers 'little benefit' to children's development | Society | The Guardian

"David Willetts, the conservative thinker on families and now higher education minister, argued that marriage in britain was in danger of becoming an exclusive middle class institution-and action was needed to bolster it. The idea still floated by key tories, such as work and pensions secretary Iain Duncan Smith, but is opposed by liberal democrats."

Fathers are shunning marriage in their millions, and rightly so. They are being persecuted as evil doers at the behest of women. Hence, the institute findings are not surprising anyone.
Fathers and men in general are being made complete suckers in the family courts. Unless and until this persecution is properly redress and fathers being treated fairly rather than being victimized, marriage will become exclusive to the few who can afford the costs of divorce.

Re: Marriage confers 'little benefit' to children's development.

I have a great idea to propose to the UK government.

For thousands of years we've had round wheels. The wheel must surely be a patriarchal construct since men have used it, not only to improve economic conditions for their own tribal groups but also to wage war against other groups.

Therefore the wheel must be regarded as yet another male device to oppress women. After all, economic improvement primarily benefits men, and in war, women are the primary losers. Just ask Hilary Clinton.

What all of us really need is a total re-appraisal of the value of the wheel. Why does it have to be round? Couldn't it be feminist square or gay elliptical? We are in desperate need of a committee, highly paid at taxpayers expense, to uncover the truth.

We all know that that marriage was just a tool of patriarchy to oppress wymmin for a hundred billion zillion years. The feminists told us that over fifty years ago. It was startlingly obvious where we were going wrong.

What about the development of the 'hyperbolic' wheel. The patriarchy must have suppressed it.

Thanks to feminism we have the "Duluth wheel" but it is ineffective as an economic tool or a military asset.

Wake up Cameron! How many billions of pounds of taxpayers money have you invested in exploring wheels. Nothing? Shame on you!!
