Well I'd been calling my ex for a couple of days, trying to make arrangements to be 'allowed' to see my kids this fine Fathers' Day. Not one call was returned. Not one text was responded to. Nothing. Predictable, really. She did this at my daughter's 7th Birthday too. I explained to her it seemed oddly convenient that she was unreachable for the days prior to our daughter's Birthday. She assured me it was just bad timing... the phone hadn't been charged (all three of them), her landline was cut off that time and her mother's number never got answered, though her father's number did - and an empty assurance was given "Of course I'll tell you're trying to make contact... if I can get through to her myself." So Father's day rolls around, and here I am, repeating the same instances as prior to my daughter's 7th Birthday. Shock, horror. No, not really. Predictable and mundane. Anyway, having given up on trying to establish any contact (though obviously carrying my mobile phone 'just in case'...), I ventured out for a ride. The weather was far, far too good to ignore and sit inside waiting on the losing side of a "I bet she calls" bet with myself. (either way, I lose). And this is where I went. Just look at that. Such beauty. All within 30 minutes of travelling in random directions with no sense of where I was heading (yes, I have a GPS, but only take it when I 'need' to know where I'm going, I enjoy getting myself lost in the wilderness) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() No shrill noises "whhaaaa, why haven't you done this or that", no whining about "It ain't good enuff for me!" and no signs of "I want, me, me, me, I need, I want, me, me, me" Just me, my bike... and the (practically) empty road (and a tank of fuel - or 'gas' as you yanks like to call it). Ahhh Peace, quiet, beauty, calm, warmth - all in one nicely wrapped package of an hour or so riding. Credit due, the ex-wife did permit me to have sometime on camera with my half American (though her British half was always downplayed, ignored and discouraged) daughter. It was kind of funny as her other daughter was doing something to distract our daughter and the ex-wife had to make mention "stop blah blah whatever-ing... she's trying to have a 'visit' with her dad" A visit? On a camera? LoL

![]() See that lower warning triangle? It has an image of a sheep... I suspect it is a warning that Drex is on the loose in the vacinity. "Sheep, beware..." ![]() T'was a pleasant day, indeed.

Nice pictures Karl. It's a shame your ex is difficult. Where was these taken and what's with those people driving on the wrongside of the road? ![]() .
Thomas Jefferson once said "It takes time to persuade men to do even what is for their own good." Feminuts are stupid, throw some common sense at them. They won't know what hit them.

Well, at least you had some pleasure that day. I had father day acknowledgement from my 4 youngest kids (who are actually too young to do so themselves, oldest being 2 years!) and my eldest son. The rest, well, thier mothers seem unaware that it is fathers day obviously, or just dont give a poo.. I suppose 5 out of 17 aint that bad eh?

There is a special quality to English greenery and light. I miss it. It is more mediterranean where I am. Grass has more a yellow tinge and 'dusty'. The sun is quite hot here in summer and very bright. Of course it is winter here right now (and 2 in the afternoon) but outside it is like an English late spring day. And those clouds. ! I don't have a motor bike but I do have a Flt Sim. And Microsoft is lousy with clouds. I had to get some 'Koorby Clouds' to add to the program. Much better. I can fly through, over, around and under.
I have tried all my life to leave the place better than I found it. But there are 6 billion other buggers out there messing it up. I am outnumbered. But... YOU don't just make a difference, you make THE difference. ![]()
