I'm not too interested in the left vs right arguments per se, but figured this mentions feminism enough to be a worthy post. Bernard Goldberg is interviewed and discusses his book, Crazies to the left of me, wimps to the right, which discusses how society has gone down hill in correlation with the increase in fatherless homes, which he largely (and sensibly) blames on feminism.

I'm with you Karl. Fox News is not news at all. It's a horrendous source which distorts facts to no end to serve crass political purposes. It's little more than a propaganda machine for the American Republican party; there's absolutely no news on Fox News. And thus, I agree with you, I have no interest in their left-vs-right bullshit. There are a lot of good leftist ideas. Socialized medicine is a good idea! That being said, it is the unfortunate stigma of liberals everywhere that they have fallen in with these insane feminist harpies. We've said it may times, that feminism is nothing more than the hatred of men, dressed up and hidden behind none-sense academic-sounding phrases in order to make it appear respectable. I can't stand right-wing republican chicken-hawks who tout war without ever having set foot in the trenches themselves. But I can't stand bleeding-hart liberals either who constantly call right-wingers "god-bags" simply because they have a different perspective when you consider that many liberal troubles were caused by liberals themselves! At least the chicken-hawks had the brains to know that feminism was a bad idea! Liberals would do well to get rid of these man-hating cunts. So ultimately yes, feminism is largely to blame. It's not that they didn't have help; they certainly did. But they are the nay-sayers, the true man-haters. That's why I find it disgusting the femcunts like to claim that they are somehow different, when really they are more sheep-like than ever. A father is too valuable to waste.

i think he was a good speaker, when he said he didn't care about gay marriages, the presenter looked like he was going to vomit.

It has some time ago. A major FemNag (Katie Couric) is the News Anchor for the CBS Evening News. Known for her Perkiness and nice Legs. Katie has a very unflattering new Biography out. Myrna Blythe wrote an op ed piece in National Review that was very unflattering to Ms. Couric. Apparently there were bets placed at NBC how long before her Husband died of Cancer before Katie would exploit it. US TV is replacing Male Leads with Female. The New Bionic Woman is much more Feminist than the previous. Battle Star Galactica replaced Star Buck with a Woman. And the new Death Wish star will be Jodie Foster, replacing the role of Charles Bronson. The intent is to deemphasize and Feminize Men.

Here's an aside ![]() The relaunched Star Trek The Next Generation rephrased the famous tagline from To Boldly Go Where No Man Has Gone Before ( a powerful and iconic phrase) to Where No One Has Gone (a less powerful turn of phrase). However take the example of The Shadow. The tagline is Who Knows What Evil Lurks in the Hearts of Men? This was NOT changed in the same way to perhaps Who Knows What Evil Lurks in the Hearts of All? Because this was speculating on a negative - evil - feminists would appear not to find it an important line to change. This was brought to my attention by the book Spreading Misandry.

Serious question and not meant to be offensive to US brothers: "When was America not a woman-idealising and male-disdaining culture." Anybody out there old enough to remember? (Anecdotes about reactionary, marginal rural cultures on either side of the pond are valuable and interesting but do not constitute a socio-political argument, for or against the question.)* As a kid from a working class Brit family, I didn't see TV (black & white) until I was around 10 years old. Programming was amateurish since Britain had only just made the transition from radio - so lots of American sitcoms were imported. While we found them entertaining (this was all new to us remember) I and my friends (male & female) were genuinely shocked at all the whining women who told their husbands what to do and seem to serve no useful function other than tiptoe around the latest appliance looking attractive. At that age, the precise details of sweaty grunting sex and the liberal release of bodily fluids was something of a mystery. Naturally, we were obliged to learn sooner or later. But did that make us more, or less objective? I'd say more so; because we could compare cultures without including sex as a commodity. Nowadays there's little difference. Western society (not forgetting Australia and New Zealand) seems to have evolved a pattern where boys can be honorary girls if the behave themselves, adopt second-class citizenship when they reach pubery - spending the best years of their lives as slaves of the matriarchy - until at last, in old age they might be neutered enough to be accorded the status of honorary women. Is it an Anglo-Saxon thing? Have those ancient Scandinavian genes subverted the western world by stealth? Maybe a process of quiet mutation helped the fair-skinned females to use feminism as a weapon to subdue those swarthy macho types? (Where's that damn sarcasm icon when you're in a hurry?) I don't disagree with the previous posts but nitpicking the fine details doesn't get us far. It's like asking, "In what month of what year did the Roman Empire begin the Decline and Fall". Answers on a postcard, please.
The traditional male weapons in the sex war are non-cooperation and flight. The traditional female weapon is celebration of paternity and male responsibility. If women now choose to define this as patriarchal oppression, they are throwing away their best trick. Feminism, in dismantling patriarchy, is simply reviving the underlying greater natural freedom of men. - Geoff Dench 1998 (edited)
