A depressing case

I found this posted on a parenting message board:

Quote:
hi my partner is having trouble seeing his son.

He has a very very close bond with his son and they love each other very much. his son is only 4 so sadly he cant speak for himself.

His ex was very violent towards him and also was doing this infront of their son so he left her because he couldnt handle it anymore and also knew it was best for his son.

Now his ex has moved back to scotland and will not let him see his son. will not answer his calls and just emails back saying no.

i feel she is doing this out of spite because he left her but what can he do? if he get access rights in court how much could it cost and can she then still say "hes ill today your not having him" etc??

also are scottish laws different.

it feel so sad, she has taken him away from all his family and friends in england who he has been brought up with all his life?? and he loves his daddy. deffinately a daddys boy and i cant imagine whats going on in his little mind???

please help this is so unfair

what is the best thing for him to do? there is no reasoning with her, we have tried and can barely contact her now without a hang up of the phone or no reply!
thankyou x
