Re: I'm going to be a father!
My only advice,(congrats by the way) is no matter what happens, never give up on your child, no matter what can be thrown at you, what can be said of you, what a judge may decide for you, never underestimate the love a child has for his/her DADDY. He/she will thank you later on in life.
I have overcome the initial hump of my PAS case, I was two full + years without being able to see or talk to my son, the ex wife would not permit it, she went on as if she had more privilege than the Queen of England. Many Men have tried to go the legal route, failed miserably because they did not have the stomach for patience and felt overwhelmed by the justice systems in place, many gave up because they had no more money left, no proper lodgings left, and children who have/had been programmed against them.
My advice is to trust your inner self to come out on top, #1 in your child's heart, if you are sincere, if you never back down, and mostly, put your child's interest before your own. No matter what, never drag or go down to the level of other ppl if they interfere with your relationship between you and you kid/s and that for sur e includes the mother. If things go sour with her, be Ghandi.
You are superman, batman, hulk, etc, you are the guy who can do anything, can fix anything, the strongest of all dads. That is how your child sees you. Only you can let someone take that away from you.
My son is very happy I didn't give up, I fought to my last dime, and when I had no more, I fought even harder using the very system that took it all away. I educated myself in child psychology, on how to respond to him in a high conflict custody battle, I learned how to disassociate myself from my own hurts and those of my sons, I learned that my ex wife is ill, I focused on accepting that fact and not blaming.
I use forums such as this for the blame and anger I feel.
I don't know your situation and if you are with the mother, never marry, if you are married, run to a lawyer and get a paper drummed up right now establishing your parental and your child's rights as of now, before the shit hits the fan, If it does that is. You only have a 50% chance that it will drop out from you. And a 93% chance out of that 50% that you will be paying her for that child for the rest of your life.
Being a father is the best thing in the world, if your eyes are wide open, and you come prepared to this life long adventure.

Re: I'm going to be a father!
Congrats. Sorry but I can't offer any (real) advice since I don't have kids.

Re: I'm going to be a father!
You're probably not going to like this advice because, well, it's not exactly PC, but it's also the truth. I know what you're thinking you're thinking 'holy shit, I'm a father,' well the sad reality is no you're not. Not yet. What a father does for its child in regards to the shaping of their character, and instilling in them values, really cutting to the bone of parenting I mean beyond just trivia to ensure the child is safe, happy, fed, etc. A father cannot do much until the child is able to understand him.
That's just the cold reality of it. For about 2-5 years your wife is going to have a relationship with your kid that will essentially make you feel a bit like a stranger in your own home. It's cool, everyone else has been through that, when your kid is older and can appreciate things cerebrally you're going to be able to step in and do much more. Even if you're a stay-at-home dad, and you do most of the care for those years the simple reality of it is you're not going to feel like a father but more like you're just doing busy-work your wife isn't able to for some reason.
Nothing in what you do for your child (unless you're protecting them or providing) is really going to satisfy in a area relevant to your masculinity. Not for some time. So don't crack out on all this new-age bullshit of hovering around the kid twenty-four seven, or doing everything with your wife all 'is it time for us to feed the baby?' and shit (the milk don't come from you) it's quite possible - as Ernest Hemingway put it - to not even look at your child for the first two years. As long as you step in when the time comes though they'll never forget the things you did do for them. Now I'm not saying don't do anything, but just that don't expect to be fulfilled as a man in doing things it doesn't really take a man to do.

Re: I'm going to be a father!
Ah, yes, just realized the posters name, silentblood. My advice still holds true to you, however I would like to add that you are royally fucked. You are a bi sexual man, who was "collared" or whatever, and you essentially are in a female role already, but since you can't reproduce, and your "wife" can't do it alone, you were quite handy for that, what use has she of you now. Mark my words, in the near future, you will remember this forum while writing out that check to her every month, and crying cuz you haven't seen your kid in ages while also being completely destroyed over the fact that you didn't see it coming. When in fact, many guys will have foreseen this very predictable future for you. I imagine your healthy family values will be conveyed to your kid/s. Good luck with all that. And again, I congratulate you both and do hope the child is put before both of your ego's.
I just re read my post, and I seem harsh, this should be a time of rejoicing for you both, I am very sincere when I say congrats, I just hope you both realize the back seat you both will be taking, and you will soon BOTH be dominated by a new born child.

Nice to know that the woman that I trust enough to submit to at levels needed for a D/s relationship to work is going to betray my trust. I ask you the same thing, why the pessimism?

Re: I'm going to be a father!
I guess some ppl really think kids are that dumb. The kid won't realize sooner than later, that his dad like boys and girls, mommy whips dad even when he is not bad, and religion at my house resembles the lord of the rings. I wonder why I don't invite more of my friends over, the kid will say.
You know, maybe I am just ignorant. I am but a simple mechanic, and have not studied or majored in anything. So here is me being a mangina. So very sorry I don't see life the way you both do. I just prefer that most kids are raised in a typical two gender parent household where no leather is cracked and my parents don't like having sex with either gender. I just feel the boundaries are very loose to raise a child by what I am seeing written by you both on this site. I am very quick to judeg things that I don't understand, even quicker to judge things that I potentially feel will in the long run fuck up your future kids. I am not being sarcastic, I am totally serious, I am bit surprised at myself for saying this, but, I will practice more tolerance towards you both, but it doesn't make me feel any different about the fact that the child will be a royal fuck-up if you don't keep your socially different lifestyles under wraps to give this child a vision of what 90% of the planet considers normal.
I have a 7yr old boy, and he is already fucked up cuz his mom and dad can't find a middle ground, and dad (me) just won't go away like mmomy wants him to, so now my son has to walk on eggshells and censor what he wants to say to me to please his mom, yet he really wants to be with me, so he walks on eggshells with her by saying what she wants to hear from him about me. I'm am the most socially normal person I know, I may have smoked some dope and had a stronger than normal desire to drink, I smoke cigarettes, I have foul language when fixing cars, I don't vote and I jerk off more than I would like to. (better than getting screwed by the court again)
If you can both pull this off, more power to you, if the marriage fails, I am just wondering who will have the kid full time since the Misses work fulltime and Mister stays at home, if alimony is ordered, who will pay. Quit a different story with you folks, but I gather that is exactly the way you like it.
That being said, I am a jackass, and sometimes I am proud of it. I am hardened by experience. am able to "man-up" (I love that saying) and say I was inappropriate at times with you both, but my main issue stands, I think this kid has two strikes against right from the word go. Yet again, so many different factors from the norm, that this just may prove to be the way of the future.
Much success to you both. Sincerely.

I'm going to address your wall of text.
1. My religion influenced Lord of the Rings, and it is a valid religion, it is a form of Germanic Neo-Paganism.
and
2. Punishment is vastly different from play, when I punish my husband, I make him write lines or do something similar, as long as it's tedious. Play is during sex and frankly, I'm surprised how many people think our sex lives are going to involve our children. The Bible is bullshit, the Koran is a lie
The Bagavad Gita did not fall from the sky
These are the books that are written by men
They've caused wars, now follow if you can
First they created sin so they could win
Then they built the cages they could put us in
Then they took away our tribes and gave us jail
Then they took away the Earth and gave us hell -- Corporate Avenger - The Bible is Bullshit
