Women not raped on Sunderland footpath.
An allegation that a woman was raped on a footpath in Sunderland was false, police have said.
Northumbria Police were investigating the alleged attack on the path overlooking Carley Hill Quarry, on Emsworth Road, on 29 December.
But have now said they are no longer investigating.
A police spokeswoman said: "Following an investigation it has now been established that no crime has been committed."

It was rumored and we are not able to confirm or deny that the women was accousted by a cold wind and shadow's,but please let us not forget the real victims of rape, real of imaginary, and that women never lie about rape.

I see no link on the BBC site reporting the 'rape' to the fact that the rape didn't actually happen.

It may have escape attention of regular members here, I'm trying to make AM a more positive environment. This doesn't mean we have to ignore false allegations, but we have some 4 or 5 years of false accusations already listed. So, when a feminist lies by claiming they don't happen - or only in minuscule numbers, we can point them to the closed False Allegations forums. We don't need to keep pressing the point.
FRS covers false allegations now much better than we do here, hence they have a link from the front page.
