From Fox Carolina:

Taylors Woman Lied About Rape

Greenville County deputies said that a Taylors woman was
arrested on Tuesday after she lied about a rape in the Pebble
Creek neighborhood in November.

Deputies said that 23-year-old Kathryn Isbell turned herself in
to authorities at the Greenville County Law Enforcement Center
just before noon.

Isbell told deputies that a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt
sexually assaulted her while she was walking her dog around
midnight on Nov. 10. She told investigators that the man told
her that he would be watching her and that if she contacted authorities he would kill her.

Deputies said that Isbell did not call law enforcement until 3 p.m. on Nov. 10.

Authorities said that Isbell's actions prevented detectives from directing their attention toward victims of real crimes while they focused on her reported rape.

Isbell was charged with filing a false police report.

The motive behind Isbell's lie was not immediately known, deputies said.
