Accuser is not necessarily a victim
Concord Monitor - Concord,NH,USA
Why is it not just as likely here that the defendant was "the victim" of a false rape claim? Your newspaper protects the rights of the accuser by not naming ...

Re: Letter: Accuser is not necessarily a victim
The question is now, if this man in this case is convicted or not.
If not, and he is a 'victim of a false rape allegation', he (or family members living with him) should file a lawsuit against the newspaper, demanding compensation or at least demanding a half page in the newspaper to clear his name.
Even if this claim might be rejected in court (I am not sure about the legal situation), there will be reports about this lawsuit. This newspaper for sure will go ahead volontarily to avoid more legal troubles and will clear his name with another article and will be hopefully more careful when naming men accused for sex-crimes in the future.
I think, men remain too often silent - men are using courts not frequently enough when wrongly accused in relation to sex-crimes and reported in the news. They are fully named in newspapers, often with picture, however false rape allegations are a frequent crime.Yohan's
