Today's young women have abandoned feminism and are ready to live the life of an old-fashioned housewife, according to a new survey.
And, given the choice, they would rather be dating a Prince than be a high-flying career girl as more would rather be Prince William's squeeze Kate Middleton than supermodel Kate Moss.
Forty years after the 'Women's Lib' movement, less then a quarter of today's twenty-somethings - dubbed the "Easy Girl" generation - aim to be a career woman, with seven-out-of-10 saying they are not willing to work as hard as their mum had to.
Almost one-in-four said they would be happy to be homemakers, with women happy to rely on their man as long as he keeps the money rolling in.
Even though 85 per cent said they admired their mum, Victoria Beckham was named the most envied woman on the planet, with women jealous of her money, holidays, exciting life and free time.
Far from dungaree-sporting feminists, 93 per cent of respondents said they would be willing to use their femininity to get what they want. Almost half (46 per cent) would do a Page 3 topless photoshoot for £10,000, while 40 per cent would pole dance naked or run down the High Street with nothing on for the same amount.
One-in-10 would sleep with their boss if it meant certain promotion.
The poll of 3,000 women, commissioned by New Woman magazine, also found that modern girls reject feminist author Germaine Greer's likening of marriage to slavery.
Three-quarters wanted to get married before having a baby, with seven-in-10 dreaming of their boyfriend proposing to them.
Today's young women want to be courted, with 85 per cent waiting for men to make the first move, hoping that he's rich as 30 per cent would marry purely for money and 13 per cent would leap into marriage with a rich, old man. And, once together, 24 per cent would be happy to rely on their partners and become homemakers.
New Woman Helen Johnston, editor of New Woman magazine, said: "The New Man experiment embarked on with such enthusiasm by their mothers, simply hasn't worked. young women think their mothers just ended up with two full-time jobs - work and home - while nagging their man to do more housework.
"Young women today are more than happy to sort out the home as long as he provides the lifestyle they want."
The survey also found young women have forgotten about worshipping themselves, happy to lie back and think of England as long as their partner is rich. Only 39 per cent want a man who is amazing in bed, but over half (54 per cent) want a rich fella. The other 46 per cent would rather make it in life their own way.
The respondents wanted money the easy way and were willing to extinguish their bras to do so. Six-out-of-10 envy the C-list celebrity lifestyle, and an overwhelming 91 per cent said there was no way they would work until they are 68. If it guaranteed them easy money, 30 per cent would have a boob job.
Thanks to her riches and lifestyle, Victoria Beckham was named by young women as the most envied woman on the planet.
Eight-out-of-10 were jealous of friends with more money than them, a quarter wanted more money to spend on themselves and 76 per cent wanted more holidays. Half just wanted a more exciting life, with only 31 per cent finding their job fulfilling.
Johnston said: "This is the Easy Girl Generation and they're savvy enough to take all the available short cuts to an easier life. If pole dancing will earn them £1,000 a night instead of 160 hours slogging away in an office, then they'll choose the former...It's a different brand of feminism.
"Young women today no longer think they have to power dress and act like men to get on at work, they believe using their feminine wiles will get them further in life - just look at Chantelle, she's not living the dream because she aped male behaviour, she's simply tapped into her femininity.
"The truth is, young women saw the blueprint their mothers and society had created for them and thought, 'We can do better'. Young women admire their mothers for fighting to get them equality in the workplace, but they don't want to be slaves to work in return.
"They've watched their own mothers exhaust themselves and want a better life/work balance. If this means a young woman wants to restore her partner as the main breadwinner so she can achieve an easier life, so be it, why not. Modern feminism should be all about choice.
"The Easy Girl Generation are determined to use their femininity and wits to pimp up their lives and have fun doing it."

Funny, that, you know. I mean... so would I. Housework is easy. Getting everything you want is easy.

Re: Modern Women 'Happy To Be Housewives'
Yeah I see what you mean. There should be a flip side to this. The men work in order to support themselves, their family and thereby give their women a easier lifestyle.
So to make things fair in marriage: women should only be able to get a small amount their husband's wealth if she files for divorce. This is justified, because the husband has worked more and paid for most of the expenses.
This would be a deterrent for women, because the gains of divorce would be too small to make it worthwhile.
On the other hand this could make it easier for men to ditch their partners when the repercussions are small. (NOTE that around 70 percent of all divorces are initiated by women).
To avoid this they should make it so that when men file for divorce then the possible wealth loses would be larger (not unreasonable though) compared to when women file for divorce. This would decrease the appeal of divorce for men, so less would do it.
Couples who really can't live together and want to divorce would do it anyway because those cases are genuine.~ Support Fathers & Families for Father's Rights and Equal Parenting! Go to fathersandfamilies.org ~

Never thought a feminist would look good next to something.
From immorality to amorality. Can women get any lower?

Re: Modern Women 'Happy To Be Housewives'
Because of feminism women have now a very strong negotiating position, and they're milking it.
"And, once together, 24 per cent would be happy to rely on their partners and become homemakers."
I don't believe a word of it. They're not going to do much and will cash in on the divorce settlement as soon as they get bored.

Re: Modern Women 'Happy To Be Housewives'
So, what this survey is telling us is that modern women are spoiled, lazy brats who want to sit back and relax while the men toil?

Re: Modern Women 'Happy To Be Housewives'
I'm 34 and happy to be a housewife. My husband has his hands full with a stressful job (at least it pays well) and I have my hands full with housework and caring for our son.
What is up with dishes though...I wash some and the next day there seem to be more somehow....

Re: Modern Women 'Happy To Be Housewives'
People who think housework is 'easy' have clearly, never done it, day in and day out. Not to mention everything else that goes along with it!

Re: Modern Women 'Happy To Be Housewives'
Hmmmm......you are jesting aren't you? Housework has never been easier than it is now with more and more labour saving devices that have come onto the market over the past few decades....machines now virtually do everything in the average house. All the women have to do is press bloody button or turn on a switch, or is that now too much to ask of the porr dears? Housework in the 21st century is a doddle, and incidentally, which gender do you think invented, designed and manufactures all the bloody labour saving implements there are now in the average home? It certainly wasn't women and that's for sure!
OK they may be hamstrung with noisy and disobedint kids and with that I really do sympathise, but even with childcare modern developments have made that a whole lot easier for mothers. It's maybe true that juvenile behaviour is a lot more fractious than it once was, but if you seriously analysed the reasons why this should be you will find that much of that is the result of feminist influence over the past 30 yars or so. Study the facts of society today.....the steady eroding of the male role in family life and in education. Women have only themselves to blame in many ways.
I think the main grouse coming from these housebound females (aside from the kids) is that they find that housework may interfere with their enjoyment of crap female dominated TV shows like that of arch mangina Jeremy Kyle, arch feminist Tricia Goddard and that gaggle of fruit loops Loose Women....some of them are total nutters. Not to mention the equally (if not worse) dire programs on similar lines from the USA. Oh..and to start the day that haven of misandry...GMTV, totally obsessed with celebrity nonsense and with irrelevant stories involving any kind of female issue taking precedence over the far more important news items with far more serious consequences in both national and international terms. But women don't really concern themselves with all that stuff do they? The antics of Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Heather Mills and Amy Whitehouse are of far, far more significance......

Re: Modern Women 'Happy To Be Housewives'
I forgot to mention that all those crap TV shows are aired during the day...from 9am to 6pm or so. That in itself speaks volumes.....so much for a hard day's work while hubby is slogging his guts out at a really stressful job to enable poor wifey to sit down with a cup of tea and a jammy dodger and watch these programs which no doubt pour out a whole lot of garbage of how modern life is oh so stressful for the modern woman and how vile the male of the species is.

Yeah, actually Annette, I have. I spent a couple of yrs as a SAHD, we didn't have carpets and we didn't have a bucket & mop... So guess who was on their hands & knees scrubbing the tiles with a dish cleaner?
Of course, it was never good enough for the ex... the way I folded laundry, the cooking, all of it - there was always (as in for the most part) some kind of complaint about something wasn't right.►My blog / Your Blog

Husband : "I had a dream too...I dreamt they were auctioning off pussy. The pretty ones went for a thousand dollars, and the little tight ones went for two thousand."
Wife : "And how much for the ones like mine?"
Husband : "That's where they held the auction."

Re: Modern Women 'Happy To Be Housewives'
I can't speak for other women, but here is a TYPICAL day for me (often its much busier, but sometimes not):
5AM: Wake up to do aerobics workout for one hour
6AM: Get son off to school
7AM: Begin homeschooling for my two daughters (one is in 8th grade, the other is in 4th....total schoolwork takes about 6 hours, not counting PE)
1PM: Make lunch for kids
2PM: Son comes home; make lunch for him
3PM: Walk 6 blocks to my mother's apartment to scrub down her bathroom (she is incontinent); take out her basketful of incontinence pads with a clothespin on my nose; get her mail; make sure she has enough to eat; make sure she has taken her 13 various meds; handle any calls on her answering machine from doctors, etc (she is almost 100% deaf and almost totally crippled, and cannot do these things for herself.) Get myself resentful all over again on a daily basis because of what this woman did to me as a kid, yet I am stuck caring for her...
4PM: Come home; get first of several loads of laundry started. Once they are done, hang them on the clothesline (no dryer).
5PM: Husband usually comes home.
6PM: I help son with homework
7PM: Drop off daughter at gymnastics class, 15 blocks away (I don't drive and have to walk everywhere). When I get home, take a break on the computer (or earlier in day, depending on when I have some free time)
8:30PM: Pick up youngest daughter from her class.
9 PM: Go to bed, to get up at 5 AM tommorrow, as a new day begins.
This is a TYPICAL SLOW day....on other days I have a LOT more that I have to do. I am taking care of three children, a husband and an elderly mother. And sometimes, when I remember to, myself."I just owe almost everything to my father and it's passionately interesting for me that the things that I learned in a small town, in a very modest home, are just the things that I believe have won the election." ----former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher
