Totally agree, I've been annoying people for years trying to discount the MYTH that women's lives were worse than men's throughout history. For great periods, men's lives were actually much worse. We need a very brave historian to stand up and address this. Feminism tries to disempower men who were never that empowered to start with Adverts attack male confidence like castration by a million tiny cuts

I use the Library quite frequently - usually around two books each three weeks. Whenever I come across a reference to feminism or as Harry mentions, women being treated worse, I always annotate in the margin, in biro. A question; a comment; a note that no facts are given to support the assertion; whatever is appropriate. Defacing books? No. They are bought with my tax dollars and are corrected by me for free. I have tried all my life to leave the place better than I found it. But there are 6 billion other buggers out there messing it up. I am outnumbered. But... This would be interesting if the author had offered up evidence to back his claims, which he hasn't. He's guilty of the very same things he takes supposedly 'feminist liberal' authors to task for.

The irony is the only people who can readily disclaim these claims by feminists, are academmians. These same academians tend to be very poor in political or social power. They don't speak up, and they're afraid to express unpopular opinions. They just write textbooks no one ever reads. Every feminist idea has been disproven in some textbook somewhere... they just never try to contact any media with the study findings or anything.

I remember someone in another thread pointing out some similar ideas: Who paid more for there right to vote, men or women? How many suffragettes died for their cause? Now compare that to how many died in the American War of Independence, The French Revolution, The English Revolution, WWII (To maintain your right to vote). Who had it worse? How many feminists does it take to change a lightbulb? Trick question; feminists can't change anything.

But nong comments like the one above by pf4501z show that it was wasted on him at least. pf, don't you friggin' read? Did you give up after line three. Are 1000 words too much for your closed mind? Harry was talking of his own reactions to clear evidence which he explains in some detail. The wasted and blighted lives of MEN. That was just the 'war' issue. Much more from other societal aspects could have been said but that would be a subject for a more extended essay and simply add more evidence. The evidences shown are compelling just bythemselves, nontheless. I have tried all my life to leave the place better than I found it. But there are 6 billion other buggers out there messing it up. I have also gone a little further than AH in showing that it was just this terrible treatment of men that gave rise to 20C feminism. Faced with the loss of several million men and the re-integration of many millions more maimed and disfigured men - both physically and psychologically - women were BEREFT. They had vastly reduced opportunity for marriage and family. Many women responded by becoming independant. They took to the professions and 'adventuring', business and creativity. They were encouraged by men. They were largely successful. Women attended University in droves - as they had already done so in lesser numbers prior to WW1. They started to 'grow up'. University gender parity was gained in the 40's But behind their success lay resentment, anger, bitterness, guilt and shame. Their guilt and shame. Their anger at having sent men to war. Their bitterness at such a loss of prospect. They resented that no-one was 'taking care' of them. But they could not handle such strong emotions like adults ought. They became, en-masse, neurotic. The 'emotional experts' women, so full of 'empathy' and 'human relationship understanding', could not take responsibility for their own feelings and projected them onto men. Feminism was born in all its ugly 'blaming'. Barely had they started down this track of holding men responsible for the feelings women had, than WW2 came along and gave them a second dose. The next wave of 60's feminism was built on already created neurotic foundations of negative feeling. It turned into a full blown psychosis. I have tried all my life to leave the place better than I found it. But there are 6 billion other buggers out there messing it up. I am outnumbered. But... Last Sunday and Wednesday were Remembrance Days here in the UK - commemorating and paying homage to all the brave individuals - overwhelmingly MEN - who "gave their lives on their todays for our tomorrows". How many female names do you see on all the very many thousands of War Memorials erected in every single hamlet, village, town and city right across this green and pleasant land of ours? Yes, guys - spot on - precious few indeed. Here in my home town there is a very long list of names of those locals who died in both world wars, plus other conflicts since then. There is a regular program on BBC Radio 4 - at 10.00hrs each weekday and an omnibus at 16:00hrs on Saturdays - more often than not an ongoing whinge from women about most things in life concering the female gender....often including the criticism of men or an outright vilification of them. This week we had two women babbling on about what life was like in Britain during WW2...on the so called Home Front. There was general agreement that, all in all, life was a lot more difficult for women than it was for men during the whole of that war .....it always fell to women to deal with severe shortages of practically every consumer items due to very strict official rationing - food, clothing - everything that made for normal life domestically. On top of that the poor dears had to deal with total blackouts at night and for them that was very, very scary and frightening....there was absolutely no outside lighting at all - it was literally pitch dark at night. And on top of all that there was the ongoing horror of bombings and aerial attacks including flying bombs and rockets later in the war, which meant many hours cooped up in air raid shelters which were cold and wet and damp and smelly and very, very noisy when bombs were falling outside. If they were lucky they found their homes still standing when they emerged from their shelters. If there was nothing left but a heap of rubble then it was the women who had to deal with everything that had to be done and that was such a trial (so this woman said). One woman said it was horrible for women who could not obtain their lipsticks and face powders and nylon stockings and in despair they resorted to smearing their legs with gravy browning, and for seams they used black crayons to draw a line up along the back of their legs....after all, they had to look pretty for all those handsome American military hunks who had landed in Britain in their very many thousands in the later stages of the war - once the Americans had at long last entered the war - late, as in the previous world war.....at the start of which the American Ambassador Joseph Kennedy (of Irish extraction) had reported to Washington, just prior to the outbreak of war, that Britain was finished, it would definitely by taken over by the Nazis....as if. ![]() So, with all their Brtish men away on the battlefields, all the women had problems making themselves look attractive to the American servicemen, who were over sexed, over paid and over here. Yes, life for women in World War Two in Britain was so much more difficult and traumatic than it was for men.....they had far more to deal with...it was dreadful and horrible. Awwwww......... ![]() ![]() Last edited by Ledburian; 13th-November-2009 at 03:09 PM..

On another note, i read somewhere that whilst rationing was enforced the British nation had never been so healthy, before or since the war. So while these selfish creatures were at home getting fit on a mass state enforced diet and worrying about stockings and make-up, did they think their men were on a big pub crawl or some such.

These women on the 'Home Front' lived in comparative luxury to how the men lived (existed!), and frequently died in the hellhole trenches. You couldn't find a starker example of disparity in suffering, yet these hateful and ingrate hags have the callous temerity to claim women had it worse!! This is just yet another example of feminists pissing on male war graves. In actual fact during the Second World War in Britain very many women below a certain age and who did not have family commitments, ie kids - mostly single women therefore - were also subject to a form of conscription - not to the military though (women who joined the military did so voluntarily) - these women were directed to work in the factories and manufacturing concerns working desperately hard towards what was called The War Effort - meeting the urgent demand for a whole range of urgent military equipment. Many of these women, to give them their due, worked quite long hours under difficult conditions - often having to either continue working during air raids (all factories were strictly blacked out as effectively as possible therefore making them invisible to the enemy bombers) or, in most cases, cease work and take to the air raid shelters. I believe these women had very little choice as to which factories they were to be required to work in, or even the location. Many were sent away fro their home areas in many cases, but as close to home as possible. Many young women were conscripted into the Land Army and were required to undertake all manner of agricultural and horticultural work, such as reaping harvests, operating combines, baling crops, digging spuds, mucking out crappy pig and cattle sheds..all in the name of producing vital food supplies in those dangerous times. Most pastureland was compulsorily converted to arable - the growing of crops was absolutely necessary and women really did do much of the work as the blokes were all away - many of them having their guts spilled out in the deserts or the jungles or the hellholes of Nazi occupied Europe. Later in the war captured enemy aliens (Germans and Italians especially) were held in large prisoner of war camps all over the UK and many of these guys were also forced to work on the land for no pay at all, unlike the British women who did receive quite reasonable money in return for their labour. Needless to say a good number of these British Land Army girls got themselves a bun in the oven through playing rumpy pumpy with many of these enemy aliens - something that was officially strictly forbidden - any kind of fraternisation was forbidden - but it happened - often! And as for the very many thousands of Yanks based all over the UK in the two and a half years between these Americans landing here in early 1942 up until the DD-Day landings in June 1944 - well, the pregancy rate among young British women shot up like a rocket.....baby Yankee Dadee sproglets popped out all over this land. Of course, it goes without saying that very many of these women had boyfriends, even fiances, and indeed, husbands too, far away overseas fighting for the glory of England...and Scotland...and Wales.....but as usual what the male eye doesn't see, the female heart doesn't grieve over, the male cat is away so the female mice play.....and the latter part of WW2 saw the British postal services despatching the highest number of "Dear Johns" ever before recorded in all its history since its inception back in May 1840. It has to be said that many of those women who consorted with the alien POWs were pretty much held in contempt by the people in their localities....many were sent to Coventry. Over in the Channel islands, the only part of the British Isles to be occupied by the Nazi Germans and where conditions became quite really difficult (between 1940 and 1945) in WW2 - once the islands were liberated, the Nazis kicked out, and the British authorities took over again - all the local women who had consorted and fraternised with the Germans had all their hair shorn off - they became as bald as a baby's bum - and were subjected to all kinds of verbal abuse and harsh treatment, so much so that some committed suicide. All the women were called Jerrybags by the British Channel Islanders. Meanwhile all the Jerry Daddies were shipped back to liberated Europe and dealt with accordingly. It just shows how weak and faithless and lacking in principle so many women allow themselves to become in situations such as those - either with those over sexed, over paid and over here randy Yanks flashing their teeth and their wallets and egos - or the enemy aliens either held captive here in mainland Britain or held captive by the Germans in the Channel Islands.
