I saw a report on BBC news this afternoon. It said there is a pay gap of 17% between men and women. The main causes were 1. women choosing different careers, and 2. women working part time after having a baby. Discrimination had nothing to do with it. Why should women choosing lower paid (read: easier) jobs be any concern? There is a trade off between salary and other benefits. Didn't the government introduce new legislation not that long ago to make it easier for women to work part time after having a baby? If the pay gap is such a problem why did they do that? Angry Harry had a comment about this as well

As more and more women achieve to get highpowered Tjobs - after all, what they were whining for, for years - they also have to cope with the downsides of the highly stressful jobs. A sharp increase in heartattacks, ulcers and other medical conditions connected with manager position - including suicide is the result.
