1/3 of payments go unpaid.

I call bull on this. They write this article and it seems right out of the feminist handbook and don't even bother to look into the other side.

I do not believe it is that high and believe the numbers are spun..

Quote:
Roughly one-third of mandated child and spousal support payments go unpaid every month, the results of a new study from Statistics Canada suggest.

The Maintenance Enforcement Survey, released yesterday, looks at some 400,000 cases of child or spousal support that were enrolled in maintenance enforcement programs throughout the country.

The study's findings on monthly payment compliance were effectively a snapshot of government's ability to enforce payment.

But even though the study found a majority compliance rate for child support, only one-third of cases managed to make a payment each and every month.

The results don't surprise Catherine, who didn't want her last name used in this story.

Her partner left the family seven years ago, leaving her to raise a daughter on her own. The monthly child support payments - just over $200 a month - stopped soon after.

"When you're doing the single mom thing, you especially depend on it," said Catherine, who is now in a stable relationship. "If he had made his payments, my daughter could have been in extra-curricular activities that I couldn't afford to put her into."

So far, she's been unable to force her ex to pay up.

"But there is a fear that if we really pressured him and if there was some kind of enforcement action taken against him, it might mean he wouldn't even come and see his daughter."
Funny newspapers never do a story on the percentage of fathers like me that want to see their children, be involved in their lives etc but are denied access while the ex goes unpunished and the courts refuse to do anything.

What about guys that lose their job at no fault of their own? Maybe they can't find a similar paying job right away? The article does not even mention partial payments from guys that have no money then they lose their drivers license etc and are in a deeper hole......

I have been tempted to stop payments for that reason myself but I want to show my kids I am better than that and I seen what happens if you do not.

You lose your job yet your income is pro rated as if you are still making that kind of money. I used to work in the forest industry and so many mill closures and job losses over the last few years yet the courts fail to see that.

Most guys want to pay but financial situations change and the courts do not seem to accept those changes right away..we are viewed as liars or trying to get out of paying...

Yet so many women end up with another guy and are way better off financially yet the starving dad who has to go to food banks just to eat, live in a shithole just to get a roof over his head who works full time but pays out 70% of net pay like he was before he lost his job and doing a job that pays less. wtf?

Why can't the ex or these women whining get a job? My kids are teens so no excuse for her not to stop filling her face, growing her ever increasing ass and surfing the net all day?

There is more than one side to this yet all we hear is about 'poor women' and big evil men who won't pay up, like wtf???? They publish such one sided stories. Yet never see a story about dead beat moms....

I tell you if I had my life to live over I would never get married, shack up or have kids.

No 1;

Firstly, that's a most unreasonable suggestion! They don't feel the need to lift their fat asses up of the sofa to do a day's graft while there's some "stripped down to the balls" guy grafting away to provide all the dosh she needs - until of course she is compelled to contact her lawyers to demand more as she is up the duff again from her latest boyfriend.

No 2:

And so say gazillions of other guys. The sad truth of the matter too many of them do indeed land themselves in the $hit all over again with some other skank.
