I was about to say - almost word for word - what you say in your the last paragraph quoted. It sickens me that men & boys are committing suicide in monolithic numbers, and nothing but "aww, it's a shame... he couldn't hack it... men - so violent... et al yet because a few women & girls commit suicide we end with full investigations and law changes and so on.

When I was in school, Kathy Bamber committed suicide because of bullying. She hung herself in her parent's garage. She is the girl who basically got Esther Rantzen started on the 'childline' and all that went with it. Only two weeks before a boy in our school committed suicide - but no one knew of it (well, the parents, police & a few freinds - but no big assembly was held for him, no big TV discussions, etc.)

The thing I did take note on though is Kathy Bamber committed suicide because of bullying - by GIRLS - not just any girls, these were her friends.
I remember walking into the school that morning, and as I ventured into one of the entrances I saw a girl who had in the past tried to push me around verbally on frequent occasions, curled up in the fetal position on the floor with about five other girls surrounding her.
Because she was known (to me at least) as a bit of a clap-trap, I ignored her apparent 'woe is me' wailing for attention and continued on my way to class. I had assumed someone had tired of her bitchiness and slapped her one good n proper. Oh no. Far from.

Turned out, she'd been contacted by the police that morning. Her name was one of four girls who had been named in Kathy's suicide note. She had been named and shamed. I learned of this between seeing her wailing in the doorway and arriving at my class. It was like wildfire, but also entirely true - it would be easy to dismiss it as gossip - but my teacher confirmed it all in a short talk prior to a short-notice assembly. Later, Esther Rantzen came on TV and told us all about it. The BBC even displayed the suicide note with the names censored.

Naturally, all the girls avoided any form of legal repercussion.

This lad, whose name I do not even know committed suicide, yet I do not even know his name. Not because his situation was drawfed by the BBC's pushing of Kathy's suicide - it was simply never mentioned. There was no assembly for him, no tears, nothing. The only reason I know of it at all is because a couple of years after leaving school a friend (who I didn't know at school) told me how much he was upset with the whole Kathy Bamber situation. He figured his friend simply was not 'as important' somehow as Kathy.

I guess he was right.

If this was applied to men who commit suicide, the Child Support Agency would be up on hundreds of charges of Corporate Manslaughter. In fact a charge of genocide would be more appropriate, the amount of men they've pushed to suicide in the pursuit of greed and their hateful ideology.

Duncan, yes - you're right. They should be brought to human rights court on counts of genecide & perhaps child endangerment as well as acting in sexist mannerisms.

I won't name names, but I know of three women who do not have custody of the children they bore. Yet only one of them pays C$A. The others simply ignored the initial contact letters from the Child Fraud Agency, and never heard from them again.

(I went into the local DSS office one time and asked to speak with a "representative from the 'child fraud agency'." you should've seen the receptionists face LOL - classic)
