GAL'S TOXIC VISINE TEA
...
The Long Island woman who poisoned a housemate by putting eye drops in his iced tea - a dirty trick depicted in the hit movie "Wedding Crashers" - was sentenced yesterday to three years' probation for the sickening assault.
Hairdresser Kristine Anzalone, 25, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and was ordered by a Nassau County judge to pay her victim's $10,205 medical bill because he does not have health insurance.
Victim Joseph Gentissi Jr., 32, was not satisfied.
"It's not fair," said Gentissi, who had also accused Anzalone of killing his Chihuahua, Gucci.
"This is a woman who tried to poison me. She should have been charged with attempted murder. We were hoping she was going to get a strong sentence."
Anzalone's lawyer said her client was only protecting her unborn child, because Gentissi - who had lived with her and her then-husband, Christopher, in North Bellmore - refused to stop smoking around her while she was pregnant.
Anzalone yesterday declined to comment on the June 2006 poisoning, which caused Gentissi to vomit and bleed rectally.
Judge William Donnino yesterday also issued an order of protection, directing Anzalone to stay away from Gentissi.
"She's sorry, she's remorseful for her actions," said her lawyer, Nancy Bartling, after the sentencing. "While she was pregnant, the victim was doing things that were not good for her baby."
Gentissi denied endangering her unborn child.
"No, I would not smoke in the home around a woman who was pregnant," he said.
"She lost control. She was jealous," he said, claiming she was angry that he and her husband would go out drinking, leaving her at home.
"She took it as a big joke. She set out to hurt me and she sure did."
He claims Anzalone attacked his Chihuahua and goaded a pit bull to kill it. Bartling said the charges were not true, and Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice's office dropped them.
Visine contains tetrahydrozoline, a chemical that constricts blood vessels and can cause vomiting and other ailments if ingested.
In "Wedding Crashers," a character, played by Owen Wilson, squirts Visine into a love rival's drink with decidedly more comic results. kieran.crowley@nypost.com
Do you think her legs had anything to do with the judge's decision?
Out of the gloom a voice spake unto me. 'Smile and be happy, Things could get worse."
So I smiled and was happy, and behold... Things did get worse.
I'll be glad when this female-tattoo craze is over.
Anyway, a misdemeanor??
If I steal more than $250 worth of merchandise from Wal Mart it is a felony but poisoning another human being....that's ok. Well, it's ok if I am female and my victim is male, otherwise that would be a felony too.
For the record, I have a tattoo - but it's hidden away, not on my hands/feet.
And it seems, (women) murdering men is also becoming fashionable.

I have tattoos as well but we are male Marx.
After all, we don't carry purses or wear makeup and if we do, we are not considered real men now are we? It's fair game.
I am just saying that I do not find it attractive at all and I will be happy when the craze is over. I guess I prefer "feminine" women. A rarity to find one these days.
Why are we not complaining about this matter to the local authorities, reaching out to the victim and so forth?
What can local authorities do? She has been tried and she can't be tried twice.
Reaching out to the victim? In my experience, men would prefer not to play the "shoulder to cry on" game.

There can be appeals in some cases. And there are other things that can be done.
Why have such a defeatist attitude?
Ok Stan, fair enough. Why don't you get his information and invite him to come here. If he comes, then we will know that he wants to talk to us about it.
The point of bringing situations like this to light is not to play "Oprah" with the victim. It is to show the ongoing discrimination against men. However, if you want us to play Oprah, invite him here.

Umm...similar things happen to other men. Why not help things be fairer next time? Who said anything about Oprah - confused?!?

Sorry, I'll clarify. Others may disagree with me (which is common ) but I don't view this site or the MRM as a sympathy social group, the Oprah way. As men, I honestly don't think we handle problems in that way.
Ok let's watch the same thing happen to other men endlessly and just turn the other cheek.
