It should be THE CUSTOM for parents to teach their daughters from an early age that boys and men deserve equal respect and treatment in all aspects of life, and that they should be treated as such.

Yes Mike T, "Attorney Should" has a lot to answer for. He's loud and flamboyant and even MRA's consult him sometimes but he seldom wins cases.

The old husband-wife team "Mr & Mrs Reality" gives much better advice but they're hard to find. They don't advertise.

Hmmm, guys, but couldn't this idea also be seen a way to teach boys that girls and women deserve just as much respect and treatment in all aspects of life as they themselves as boys (and not even an ounce more)?

Of course, (I suspect) the person who proposed this didn't have this in mind and wasn't aware of the actual consequence this should bring - that implementing his/her idea would (or at least it SHOULD) actually mean lowering the standard of girls in terms of respect they now de facto get -no questions asked- for they are now treated as flawless angels who can do no wrong, while boys are looked upon as but a mere mortals - a lower lifeform, which must show special consideration when dealing with the pure ones. So all this should go away, he/she proposes? I think I'd like that.

I don't agree that the idea should be THE LAW as I think matters such as these aren't fit to become a law, but besides that, imagine parents actually teaching their sons that they desereve just as much respect as girls do. I can live with that.

Besides the obvious of why in hell should the gov't mandate what you should teach your children, why not teach boys to respect women and girls and teach girls to respect men and boys? And vice versa.

At least, that's what I try to do with my daughter. I would like to think that she also sees the behaviour that my husband and I model and that she learns from it.
