Are you male-victim of domestic violence?

A study about domestic violence, interviewed women only. Inspired by the study's questions, it is interesting to see whether someone could be a male victim of domestic violence.

You are a victim of gender violence if your wife:
    1. Is jealous or angry if you communicate with other women
    2. Frequently accuses you of being unfaithful
    3. Does not permit you to see your male friends
    4. Tries to limit your contact with your family
    5. Insists on knowing where you are at all times
    6. Does not trust you with any money

(The questions have only been altered into male-respondent perspective)
IF you answered "Yes" to any question above, you are a statistic of domestic violence!

Re: Are you male-victim of domestic violence?

Whenever I have looked at these types of 'surveys' for women and swapped the gender around to reflect my sex, it turns out that almost every relationship I've been in has been 'abusive' as I can answer 'yes' to at least one question... However, if I use my marriage to base the questions on, I can answer 'yes' to almost every question posed. I also looked at the Duluth Model and swapped the sexes on that too, and that also shows my marriage as being extremely abusive.

Re: Are you male-victim of domestic violence?

Other than my current wife and one woman a dated years ago I could answer yes to at least one of those questions for every relationship I have been in.

Now if you only counted physical violence then the answer would still be yes but the number of women would go down significantly that were guilty of DV.

And I suspect the same would be true with the current female centric DV stats.

    Under these terms,
You are a victim of gender violence if your wife:

    1. Is jealous or angry if you communicate with other women
    2. Frequently accuses you of being unfaithful
    3. Does not permit you to see your male friends
    4. Tries to limit your contact with your family
    5. Insists on knowing where you are at all times
    6. Does not trust you with any money

(The questions have only been altered into male-respondent perspective)

Anyone can be a DV victim.

VAWA seeks to take this to a whole new level for women. Merely looking at them or asking them for coffee fits the NEW profile.

Interesting that these little honey surveys are never male respondent.

As men,I beleive we are more suckers than victim's.

We are victimized because we are men-this is used against us in so many ways,we are suckers for falling for it.

Re: Are you male-victim of domestic violence?

Looking at this, I now understand the '1-in-4' statistic; furthermore, if only 1 in 4 women are victims of domestic violence, using this, er, logic, then I'd say that speaks very POSITIVELY about men; I'd say that using the same, er, logic with men, would make far more than 1 in 4 men victims of domestic violence.

I think some people (i.e. feminists) need to look up the word 'violence', in the dictionary. While at it, they could also look up the words 'equality', 'honesty', 'decency', 'sanity', and 'misandry', amongst others.........

Do excuse me, brothers, for I'm now off to rape some women with my eyes, muahahahahaha!!!

Re: Are you male-victim of domestic violence?

While I have only now seen this list, on one occasion when I have recognised burgeoning emotional violence from a partner, I ended the relationship. I did initiate a serious discussion about the matter beforehand but all I got was justifications and no willingness to consider she was in the wrong.

I don't have that situation, Teri - But I can tell you about my attempts to get help from professionals for my (former) step-son's abuses by his grandmother... Therapists, CPS, Police - everyone ignored me.
