Woman suing man for damages resulting from a failed courtship
The hidden costs of romance for Julie Ann Zelent - TelegraphWhat price love? Most of us measure it in tears, ecstasy and our heart’s own blood, but Julie Ann Zelent has itemised the bill in a manner more befitting a former bank employee. The 51-year-old reckons that her two-year courtship with millionaire football club chairman Alan Savage cost her around half a million in lost earnings, designer frocks, hairdressing, gym membership and “stressful” trips to far-flung locations such as Australia.
This is hilarious as much as it is disturbing that women feel they have a right to sue men who don't marry them if they want them too.But before you rush to judgment, I should point out that the hidden costs of romance are indeed steep for womankind. While your average man shaves and dons a jacket for a date, his sweetheart prepares like an athlete training for a marathon. A woman of my acquaintance, of no especial vanity, was recently asked to spend the weekend at her new beau’s country cottage. She started a yoga class, went to the hairdresser, had her legs waxed, got a fake tan, bought new underwear, make-up, a coat and some Hunter wellies. She thought her total expenditure was at least £350; he greeted her in “an ancient sweater that smelt of dead badger”.

New wellies as well as new knickers. Hmmmm. Interesting time expected.
I have no great problem with a woman preparing herself well, outfitting herself with wellies, knickers, (same old bra, I wonder? yes, a wonderbra), leg wax and hairdo by Vicente of Brazil ( a job lot) et all, but I am tired of forever being told by women that they dress for themselves and not for a 'mere' man, so why the bellyaching and moaning and sending him the friggin' bill?
I suppose, to be fair, he could send her a bill for the lube job on the car, the overtime for the 'country cottage' butler/valet/ estate manager, his last year's haircut bill (as we all know, we chaps, that it takes at least six months for a chaps' hair to return to normal after the barber has worked his malevolent magic), the Tesco underpants with the elephant trunk motif and, not overlooking, the bill from his local hooker for getting his prostate in sound working order ahead of this woman's visit.
I would love to hear the lawyers arguing over that lot. When in need of a drink to fill the soul

Isn't it the guy who pays for the meal, gas, friff, fraff, and fivrolucity in most cases? If she could sue for that I know many men who could file the same lawsuit...
Reminds me of that woman last year who sued her ex for not getting enough sex in her relationship...

Women just keep inventing new ways to discourage men from committing to relationships with them! They are their own worst enemies.
