...until I got to the bit where he says he intends to donate any compensation to the NSPCC...AAARRGHHHHH!!!!!!

    Re: BA getting sued

Anyway, this is good news, I think, it is the first time a man files a lawsuit against an airline because of its discriminatory policy.

Mr Fischer, a 33-year-old hedge fund manager, became aware of the policy while he was flying from Gatwick with his wife Stephanie, 30.
His wife, who was six months pregnant, had booked a window seat which she thought would be more spacious. Mr Fischer was in the middle seat between her and a 12-year-old boy.
Shortly after all passengers had sat down, having stowed their bags in the overhead lockers, a male steward asked Mr Fischer to change his seat.
Mr Fischer refused, explaining that his wife was pregnant, at which point the steward raised his voice, causing several passengers to turn round in alarm. He warned that the aircraft could not take off unless Mr Fischer obeyed.
Why did the steward not ask the 12-year old boy to change the seat?

I think he has some chance in court, because he was not travelling alone but with his wife, 6 months pregnant. That's really bad to force this man to change the seat, away from his wife.

If he wins the case, he might win it because of the pregnant wife and in case the next male traveller is alone, he might be asked again to change his seat...

Don't think my comment made it through -

Good luck mate, i hope you win ...... But have you seen any ads for the NSPCC, they seem to operate under the same misconception that only males are abusers, so if you win any compo please find a more well balanced children's charity.

Can't see why though, its not that bad.

I have always had an opinion of airline stewards

this incident highlights the feminits attitude towards men exemplified by the abandonment of courtesy, and so quickly, by the airline and they were prepared to inconvenience everbody on board to force their feminit hate policy agin this guy

hate crimes are another tail the feminit commissars pin on the male donkey

this policy flags the feminit hatred of men and is arrogantly enforced

however I don't think the feminit system will compensate this guy who flouted their own edicts - sad to say

better not to fly with airlines that enforce this arrogant and insulting edict agin men

Next step will be banishing all male adult passengers to a specially enlarged cargo area along with transported livestock and suspect suitcases.

This is nothing really new however, as Quantas and Air New Zealand have similar rules since about 5 years. Link above.

It is however the first time I think, a man is filing a lawsuit against the airlines because this rule was enforced on him.

For BA, this rule is since many years, (around 2006) and there are previous complaints.

But in this case the child was moved away from the window-seat.
Frances Kemp booked an aisle seat on a recent British Airways (BA) flight because she had a bad leg that required extra space. Her 76-year-old husband Michael occupied the middle seat. A nine-year-old girl took the window position.
When a stewardess asked Frances to switch seats with her husband, she declined. The stewardess explained that the seating arrangement breached the airline's child-welfare regulations and moved the child.

    Re: BA getting sued

A lawsuit challenging this vile, misandrist policy is long overdue. It's been nearly nine years since George McAuley became the first men's rights activist (as far as my knowledge extends) to complain about this British Airways policy.

Even he doesn't win the case, the amount of publicity which the lawsuit will receive should ensure that almost everyone in the country will be aware of the fact that British Airways treats all of its adult male passengers as potential paedophiles.

If he does win, it could prompt other airlines who practice this same discriminatory policy towards men on their flights, to follow suit and repeal it.

British Airways assume that a child sat next to a woman who is a stranger, is in no danger whatsoever. However, in Britain alone, there are an estimated 64,000 female paedophiles.

Because, of course, a paedophile is really going to attack, on a plane in front of numerous other passengers, with his pregnant wife sat beside him.........

Even though this is a considerable number, despite how the abuse community has effectively denied and deliberately covered up female abusers for decades, I suspect the numbers are much higher.

As people have noted how it's almost impossible to even scratch your nuts without someone noticing, let alone abuse a child with passengers all around and cabin staff constantly hovering.

So I'm wondering can this misandric hysteria be justified by airlines with them providing examples of children being abused by men on what must be millions of flights per year? Any examples? One even?

Shouldn't terrorists and drunken passengers be targetted as the real threats on these flights, instead of some mythical pedophilic bogeyman who plys his twisted trade in the most unlikely of venues?

    Re: BA getting sued

Such policy is anyway unreasonable or better said idiotic, and it seems, only 3 airlines have such rules, BA, Quantas and Air New Zealand. Or at least I cannot find any complaints like that about other airlines, not even US-related airlines.

I never heard about Asian airlines from Japan, Korea, Thailand or China etc. to have such a policy 'to protect children' up to 16 years old...

But good to know, it is the first time a man is willing to file a lawsuit against British Airlines. We will see what will happen.

I guess, there will be a settlement soon out of court. This is a businessman, and for him money is money. British Airways will say sorry + some money, because his wifewas pregnant...

I am not sure if he will fight it out in court.
