I love this;
Mounties issue sweeping denial in Galliford sexual harassment lawsuit
VANCOUVER - The Mounties have issued a sweeping denial in a high-profile sexual harassment suit by a British Columbia officer, whose allegations have prompted other women to come forward with their own claims of abuse.
Cpl. Catherine Galliford, a police spokeswoman who was the force's public face during the Air India and Robert Pickton cases, first outlined her allegations in media interviews last year. She filed a lawsuit this past May.
Her allegations have prompted the RCMP to promise to tackle harassment within the force. In the months since, several other female Mounties have filed cases of their own, including one who says dozens of other officers are prepared to join her in a class-action lawsuit.
Galliford's allegations span nearly two decades, during which she claims her colleagues and superiors sexually assaulted, harassed and intimidated her until she developed post-traumatic stress. She claimed she didn't come forward because she feared retribution.Read more: Mounties issue sweeping denial in Galliford sexual harassment lawsuitBut the B.C. government and Ottawa filed a joint statement of defence this week denying all of Galliford's allegations.
Instead, the governments paint her as an alcoholic who refused treatment and rejected the RCMP's efforts to keep her away from one of the men she alleged harassed her. When she finally complained in 2011, her allegations were immediately investigated, says the statement of defence.
"These defendants deny each and every allegation contained in ... the notice of civil claim," says the statement of defence.

Mounties issue sweeping denial in B.C. harassment lawsuit
The RCMP is denying allegations contained in a high-profile sexual harassment lawsuit against the force that prompted several other female Mounties to come forward with claims of abuse.

RCMP must disclose intimate relationships, draft policy states
Read more: RCMP must disclose intimate relationships, draft policy statesThe draft comes at a time when Paulson has been trying to clamp down on officer misconduct and is grappling with allegations of pervasive sexual harassment and discrimination within the force.
The draft “interpersonal workplace relationships” policy defines reportable relationships as “ongoing or singular consensual, intimate, romantic or sexual relationships” between those in positions of authority and their subordinates or those who fall under their sphere of control.
Employees involved in such relationships would be required to report the “existence, nature and extent” of their relationships to a manager immediately in writing.
Supervisors and subordinates in the RCMP who engage in consensual, intimate relationships will be required to “immediately” report in writing details of their relationships under a draft administrative policy obtained by Postmedia News.
Such relationships raise concerns about potential conflicts of interest, preferential treatment and sexual harassment, the draft policy states, and could be damaging to morale, productivity and public confidence in the force.
In an interview Friday, Commissioner Bob Paulson said the policy is not intended to regulate people’s lives or prohibit relationships from forming — “I’m all for relationships,” he said — but to ensure that the workplace remains respectful and professional.

Looks to me like the real rape was planned in a lawyer's office, and the main assailant is waiting for the payback for filing some briefs, giving out a few press releases, and financing the coffee and cookies in the lobby for the apparent nonstop stream of volunteers for this exercise in lucrative reconstructed memory.
If this suit should actually win in court, what's the share coming to each litigant, as opposed to the share for Comrade Zeitzef?

I posted a story yesterday about female firefighter recruitment
Female firefighters hope Camp Ignite will empower women to accomplish their dreams
I especially liked this comment which has been removed from the original article;

first of all..
No, a woman can NOT do the same job a male firefighter can...don't even try to debate that. You feminist crusaders always supplant reality with anger.
Putting other firefighters and victims in jeopardy just because some girls want to prove they can do anything a man can do is irresponsible and pathetic.
(btw...nice pic of the pretty girl on the ladder, hope her make-up doesn't get smeared too bad during the fire that was "omg...really really hot and like all smokey and stuff")
Second, just another area where women will cry sexual harrassment and launch lawsuits because they overheard dirty jokes, or didn't get to be firechief during the first year...we don't need that BS anymore!!

Female Mounties fear reporting harassment
Female Mounties are afraid to come forward with allegations of sexual harassment and bullying on the job because they don't have faith their complaints will be taken seriously and they believe it will be them — not the problem officers — who will ultimately be punished, an internal RCMP report has found.
The report, conducted in response to a number of high-profile allegations of sexual harassment, details the results of focus groups involving 426 RCMP officers and employees from B.C., many of whom told their own stories of being bullied, belittled and in some cases sexually harassed and assaulted by colleagues and superiors.
Those same officers said the force and its senior officers are ill-equipped or even unwilling to properly deal with the problem.
'Their life was made hell by those in management positions who have used their authority to intimidate.'—Anonymous participant in RCMP focus group"There was an overwhelming perception, based on personal observations, that there are no consequences for the harasser other than having to transfer and/or be promoted," says the report, obtained through access-to-information laws.

Toews blasts RCMP for ‘troubling’ gender-bias audit, gives them three weeks to compile plan
OTTAWA — Public Safety Minister Vic Toews is giving Canada’s top cop less than three weeks to put forward a plan to address the “troubling” results of a recent gender-based audit of the RCMP’s workforce.
In a tersely worded letter to Bob Paulson on Thursday, Toews appeared to be dismayed that the RCMP commissioner decided to go public with the results of the audit in an interview with Postmedia News, rather than put forward a comprehensive plan to address the issues related to female representation in the force.
Toews also included a partial checklist of the issues he wanted to see addressed.
They include:
- recruitment goals for females
- a plan for reaching, in the “immediate term,” a force in which 30 per cent of RCMP officers are women
- reductions in timelines to address complaints and reductions in the overall number of complaints
- recruitment and promotion targets for female members
- retention goals
Toews demanded he receive the plan “no later than Dec. 11, 2012.”
The audit is poised to become public Friday once it’s distributed to the Commons committee on public safety, the status of women committee and the Senate committee on national security and defence.

RCMP issues latest denial in string of harassment lawsuits
Lots more...VANCOUVER — The RCMP has issued its latest denial in a series of harassment lawsuits filed by female Mounties.
The latest case involves Const. Karen Katz, who has launched two lawsuits — the first alleging harassment by one of her colleagues, and a second alleging widespread harassment and abuse throughout her career on the force.
The RCMP already issued a statement of defence earlier this year denying the allegations in Katz’s first lawsuit, which targeted Corp. Baldev (David) Singh Bamra, an officer who Katz worked with in the Vancouver area. Bamra has also denied all of her allegations.

Ex-Mountie claims she is being censored
Denied chance to speak before Commons committee on sexual harrassment in RCMP
A veteran RCMP officer who was scheduled to testify before a House of Commons committee investigating harassment within the force says she's being censored and excluded after submitting her speaking notes.
Krista Carle said Friday she was shocked when Conservative members of the House of Commons standing committee on the status of women cancelled her appearance yesterday on Parliament Hill, shortly after she submitted her speaking notes to the committee 36 hours before hand, as required.
Carle said she was told she couldn't testify because she's among 300 female RCMP officers waiting to join a class-action lawsuit alleging they were sexually harassed while working for the force.

RCMP has 'no interest' in discussing harassment suit settlement
Senators hear of bullying, harassment from Mounties in B.C.
A lawyer representing 300 women who worked for the RCMP alleging harassment and gender-based discrimination in a lawsuit says the national police force is declining an offer to mediate."The RCMP indicated they have no interest to discuss settlement. It comes as a big surprise to us," said Vancouver class action lawyer David Klein.
But earlier this year, RCMP commissioner Bob Paulson's action plan said the force would "expeditiously resolve, wherever appropriate, outstanding harassment-related lawsuits."
On Friday, Klein said his clients want to see some solutions.
"They want the RCMP and the women themselves to be able to move past this to settle," Klein said.
The allegations in the proposed class action lawsuit have not yet been tested in court.
