In the middle age, still men were killed more than women by the Inquisition?
AS I heard, many Innocent ladies were killed by the Inquisition in the middle age due to priests' conspiracy.
then, what about men?Still, more men were killed, tortured by them in that age?
(You know, most victims of crime are men, but history and media mostly shows women victims. So I doubt about the 1st sentence above)
If ladies were killed and tortured more than men,the proportion of males to females should show high-disparity in the middle age.
anyboday knows about this?

Hm I don´t know about Inqusition but read sth about witch hunts that might interest you.
If my memory serves me right 1/4 of all victims were men. 99,9% of all people living in Europe at that time were not victims of witch hunts. Females were often those accusing others of witchcraft. But Inquisition.....Sorry don´t knowDisclaimer:The men's and fathers' movement needs to make sure it never sees females as the enemy, but only misandry--whether from females or from males. If not, we'll become like the bigoted feminists that this movement was formed to oppose.Glenn Sacks

Re: In the middle age, still men were killed more than women by the Inquisition?
The Inquisition was not about witchcraft but rather the first attempt by any European Country to codify and establish modern Court Proceedings. They were initated in Spain to establish the bona fides of apostates - Muslims who changed religion to Christianity to escape being driven out when the Moorish conquerors were overthrown.
Prior to the Inquisition there were few 'Courts' of any significant description for the 'ordinary person' and no established rules for prosecution or defence. All such Inquisitorial proceedings were recorded in great detail. The processes were so well recieved that they quickly spread to other Countries. (not so well recieved by those found Guilty, of course). It should also be noted that the evidentiary process ( often, torture) was separate and confessions gained under torture were inadmissable.

Re: In the middle age, still men were killed more than women by the Inquisition?
They spend special attention to female victims, but the fact of the matter is that throughout human history the (far) majority of violence, especially that coming from men is aimed towards other men. Thus men on the receiving end do suffer more than women overall.
The (young) women tend to be sexually abused, but less likely to be tortured or killed as men. So you can ask yourself would you rather be tortured/killed or sexually abused?
Also notice after a war lots of women seek out the foreign soldiers of the victorious faction, who used to be the enemy, to marry them, take them to their country for a better life.Last edited by Tyrael; 11th-October-2008 at 10:51 AM.
