Re: Men: The second sex? It’s increasingly a woman’s world.
Why is the blatantly obvious "multitasking myth" still being used?
The notion that only women can multitask, or that they can multitask any better than men has pretty much been disproven.
For a start... define "multitask".
I would define multitasking as 'simultaneously performing more than two separate tasks at a given time'.
I do this at work all the time... and so do my workmates. In fact, I am often doing four or five things simultaneously.
Is this not multitasking?
Well, of course it is! Men and women "multitask" day in, day out... often without even realizing it.
Communication? Are women REALLY better communicators than men? What is this claim based on?
And as for "sitting still in front of a computer"!
How... HOW is THAT a "SKILL"!
And since when was sitting a 'female strength'?
Honestly, I know how feminists like to 'big-up' the assumed strengths of women... but this takes the biscuit!

Re: Men: The second sex? It’s increasingly a woman’s world.
Simply put, NO they are not.Communication? Are women REALLY better communicators than men? What is this claim based on?
The claim is based off what everyone knows, they talk MORE, not better, somehow its just been obscured to IMPLY that they ALSO somehow are better adept at "understanding" and "getting a point across", two things that simply are not true.
We have all heard little jokes like this, even as kids we hear them.
Q) Whats the best thing about foreplay?
A) The five minutes of silence.....
And for as long as I can remember I recall hearing older (usually married)men talk about how they cant get five minutes of silence at home, and ESPECIALLY how there wives/lovers "give long drawn out story's to explain sometimes extremely SIMPLE things"..
Let me lay out two simple "hypothetical" situations, to better show the difference in how men and women "get to the point"...Both are trying to get across the SAME point.
Woman:
"Well when I got home I got out of the car and first thing I forgot my purse. So I walked back to the car and grabbed my purse, then walked back to the door, unlocked it and started to walk inside and the dog attacked me.So I thought maybe the dog wanted to go outside, so I took it out for a while, then the dog got of the leash as Jill called, so I was trying to talk on the phone and yell at the dog to "come back" at the same time, and it just wasn't working, so I had to hang up the phone, and go chase the dog.....Then I Finlay get the dog back on the leash and walk it around for a while, but cant get the dam dog to "do its duty" so finally I started back to the house, and just got inside when Jill called back, so I answered the phone, and got the dog back in the house when I steeped in dog sh*t...."
Man:
"the dog shit on the floor"....The end.
As funny as this may seem, we also know this to be very true..Women give USELESS DETAILS which tend to be CONFUSING, men tend to be more DIRECT and leave out details that we know DONT HELP get our point across.
One other observation is that they have to verbalize things that have NO NEED to be verbalized.
For instance, when I'm at work. Say I'm cooking one night, and have one guy and one girl back in the kitchen along with me...Things are obviously cramped as we are working in a small space, in close proximity with each other, so as a "rule of thumb" your going to "touch elbows" once in a while..
The difference in how the sexes act hear is that men usually just simply MOVE, but women will always say SOMETHING, usually "oops" or "oh sorry"...etc, BEFORE THEY MOVE.Which after they do it enough starts to agitate you, especially when your in a hurry and have no time for BS and really NEED TO FOCUS YOUR ATTENTION on what you are doing.

Re: Men: The second sex? It’s increasingly a woman’s world.
the article easily exemplifies the fragmented, confused, deluded state of mind that many people have on a daily basis.
1. college degrees do not confer a guarantee to be successful in life and have a good job. On the contrary, there are TOO MANY people with college degrees now due to governments pushing students and subsidizing them. The market is saturated with degrees and most who get jobs aren't even related or didn't need the degree in the first place. There's a reason why boys are less likely to get degrees than girls. Girls like the atmosphere and the PROCESS Of getting the degree, more boys will be future oriented and will ponder about whether it's worth it or not.
2. boys are having a hard "time" finding roles because the Establishment and government have made a mess out of everything. The article claims that subsidizing teen pregnancy, regulating and providing for work/home balance, quotas and reverse discrimination is somehow "equality"! This is a serious failure of logical thinking.
3. fact is that governments and the Establishment are lying to us about everything, wars, government, health, science, politics, history, etc etc... This pervasive state of lying by the Establishment creates a neuroses in people and men, who are more likely to be independent and rebellious of society generally.
there's just SO MUCH BULLSHIT In all levels of society that it's almost hopeless, consequently neuroses develops and learned helplessness and depression set in

If all you're hearing then is silence- then you ain't doing it right.

Re: Men: The second sex? It’s increasingly a woman’s world.
Well,
This all depends on where you look.
Sure, the emphasis these days seems to be on getting the highest education that one can get (some people even rack up huge student loans, getting a qualification that is little more than useless), isn't this just great!
Men (and some "on to it" women) on the other hand, get paid while they learn a trade, they go to night school and finish an apprenticeship with real skills (and qualifications) that they can take pretty much anywhere in the world and use and be well paid for.
Sure, these women can have thier seat at the computer, while they "multi-task", but, at the same time, they are not getting any exercise, thier arses are growing bigger.
And they call us "blue-collar" folks stupid??
I multi-task every day at work, I am a Project Manager, Staff Organiser, Planner, Customer/Power Company Liaison person and Electrician.
I never went to any fancy school to learn all of this (I left school at 15 years old as it pissed me off) and I hold no PhD or other degree.
I could however give any so-called professor a very real run for thier money in skills and knowledge attained.
