Thumbs up Majority of Sex discrimination Complaints now made by Men

Usually, I try avoid copying the entire article - in this instance, it's worth the full read, the link for the original article is at the end.
This is undeniably fantastic news and seeing the comments from Yvonne Henderson are good too - it'll piss off the feminists who pretend men don't face discrimination or that women don't get preferential treatment.

Sex discrimination complaints made by men have outnumbered those from women for the first time, according to figures compiled by the Western Australian Equal Opportunity Commission. The EOC recorded a surge in the number of sex discrimination allegations last financial year, with men responsible for lodging more than half of them.

Equal Opportunity Commissioner Yvonne Henderson said studies of the complaints indicated that men were becoming more aware of the treatment dished out to them by employers and service providers.

The majority of male complaints related to sex discrimination in the workplace, with the next biggest category relating to entry to premises.

“We have received complaints from men who feel discriminated against because they have been denied entry to bars for wearing attire similar to women,” Ms Henderson said.

“Men who believe they have been less successful in their job applications have also complained.

“Since the 1991-1992 financial year, complaints made by men in general have increased from 29 per cent to 46 per cent while complaints by women have dropped slightly.”

She said there had also been an increase in men complaining about sexual harassment – traditionally a complaint lodged by women.

“Although there were still more women alleging sexual harassment in 2010-2011, sexual harassment complaints by men have increased by 4 per cent over the last year,” she said.

Ms Henderson said a common complaint from men was that they had been denied entry to a venue on the basis there were too many men already inside the premises.

She said denying men entry based on their sex was discriminatory.

Ms Henderson said the most serious sex discrimination complaints related to the workplace.

She said complaints relating to dress codes were less common but an increasing number of men were complaining they were denied admittance to clubs and pubs for wearing flashy jewellery despite their bejewelled female companions being allowed entry.

Ms Henderson said men were becoming more aware of their rights and more likely to complain.

“I put it down to greater awareness,” she said. “Men are now more likely to say ‘No this is wrong and I am going to lodge a complaint about it’.”

Paul Pule, secretary of the peak WA men’s health and welfare body Men’s Advisory Network, said men were becoming more aware of their ability to speak out about things that did not seem right.

“This statistic reflects a generational change and an increased emotional vocabulary in men,” Mr Pule said.

Sue Price, spokeswoman for the national group Men’s Rights Agency, said she was not surprised by the increase in complaints by men and described it as a “sign of the times”.

“The rights of men are ignored when the claims of women are put above those of men,” Mrs Price said.

She said society had swung too far in favour of women and men were fighting back.

The most offensive thing you can do to a feminist is treat her with FULL equality.
Wife : "I dreamt they were auctioning off dicks. The big ones went for ten dollars and the thick ones went for twenty dollars."
Husband : "How about the ones like mine?"
Wife : "Those they gave away."
Husband : "I had a dream too...I dreamt they were auctioning off pussy. The pretty ones went for a thousand dollars, and the little tight ones went for two thousand."
Wife : "And how much for the ones like mine?"
Husband : "That's where they held the auction."

    This is great news.

    But, really...

Good news for a change. The tides are gradually turning and men are indeed increasingly putting their feet down instead of 'sucking it up'.

I recall something very similar happening in the UK when the Equal Opportunity Commission was launched. They suddenly found that most complaints were coming from men. It very nearly caused the Commission's heads to explode, because of course they had convinced themselves that only women were ever victims of discrimination and had never give a second's thought to the possibility that even worse things were happening to men. It was quite a revelation to them when reality intruded into their blinkered world.

I say men should overload the politically correct grievance apparatus, not to compete for victimhood with women, but as a form of protest to highlight the absurdity of it.

Most of the male complaints are petty. They simply argue the toss about the minor details of a feminist world-view that is universally assumed to be "normal and reasonable". I won't be firing a 21-gun salute anytime soon. Quibbling over the details merely confirms that we accept the major premise and want to find a new, comfortable place in "Femidom".
As CD says, it's merely absurd. So why play the game?

    @paul parmenter

Not even George Orwell could have foreseen the likes of the 'UK Equal Opportunity Commission'. Even the Labour Goverment ideologues who created it knew they had to get rid it.

    Astute observation.

I don't understand your view. Why is it petty for men to demand equality under the law?

There may indeed be bigger issues than whether one is being paid Ł1 less per hour than a woman doing the same job but there are ALWAYS bigger issues, and many big issues are built up from many little ones.

Once women have REAL equality and find out how objectionable it is, I have little doubt that our grandchildren will see swings toward gender fairness and equity rather than homogeneous equality. For now, egalitarianism is the best we can hope for and we should settle for nothing less.

    This is a keeper.

I had thought that when society gets to 50/50, everything will explode and just be the best person for the job, ect, ect... yet knowing feminism is not about equality but a crappy ideology, I'm wrapped to see this happening.

I think feminism could have had a shot at succeeding by stealth, but that aint gonna happen now.

I've noticed over the years that anti-feminism means different things to different people. For a very few of the many (now that there's many times many), it's about an opposite ideology - where men rule the roost as feminism wanted women to rule the roost.

What I'd like to see happen, is men and women putting effort into humankind as it was meant to be before the sexes warred over who has power over who. Which president was it that stopped pouring money into space adventure and said we need to make this planet right first?

    Yes, a keepr.

Play the damned system until it breaks.

How about some fine researcher putting the urls of all the Discrimination Wallahs here and we each make a special effort to make a complaint a week. Especially petty ones.
