Re: Indepent woman thinks maybe she'd like some chivalry as well
January Jones missed that day in kindergarten when we learned we can't have our cake and eat it too.
"Jones Wants Chivalry Revived
MAD MEN beauty JANUARY JONES has urged independent women to let men unleash their courteous sides in a bid to revive old-fashioned chivalry.
The 32 year old stars as Betty Draper in the 1960s drama and she insists modern men should look back in time to see how to treat a lady.
She tells Stylist magazine, "Women were ladies and men were gentlemen and they opened your car doors. It was a respectable time that's lacking from now.
"I don't think it's necessarily men's fault. Women have wanted to be independent, so men have backed off. But I don't think men have changed that much. They are just doing what women are asking of them and we keep changing our minds."
well, at least it's not necessarily men's fault. Maybe us dumb ol' men didn't realize giving women everything we have had to fight to earn isn't enough; we should also keep giving everything we gave before, and give them everything they want from us. Matter of fact, we should just devote every fiber of our being to independent women.. We're not doing anything useful anyway right? just battering and raping and being stupid lazy slobs.
if this idea starts to spread amongst more rotten feminist minds, i'm not going to be able to even read the paper anymore, fuck
" urged independent women to let men unleash their courteous sides"
oh please, majestic woman, just LET me be courteous to you. please give me that privilege

Women should of thought of that before they started to believe in feminism.
If you want to be treated like a lady, you must act like one.

Re: Indepent woman thinks maybe she'd like some chivalry as well
Proclaiming to be an independent woman and simultaneously expecting chivalry - are two opposing contradictory forces which never should be mixed - lest you spawn a ravenous monster. Not to mention how conducting chivalrous behaviour is fraught with omnipresent dangers such as dismissal, arrest, humiliation, litigation and possible violence. It's like saying why won't those horrible men walk over the minefield to pick up my dropped hankerchief.
Chivalry is nothing more than indentured servitude. It needs to die an overdue death, otherwise our energy in opposing feminism becomes dissipated by 'outdated ideas of obligation.'
It never ceases to amaze me how such women believe a 'ladies' job is only to exist. To merely BE. To consume and be the recipient of. Yet, the universal definition of what it is to be a 'gentleman' is always invariably something which benefits women at the detriment of men, and the list is absolutely endless. It's the epitome of one-sidedness.She tells Stylist magazine, "Women were ladies and men were gentlemen and they opened your car doors. It was a respectable time that's lacking from now.Last edited by Celtic Druid; 9th-October-2010 at 05:32 AM.

Independent women don't need chivalry.
Men and women are equal, remember?Greed is for amateurs.
Knowledge without wisdom is a load of books on the back of an ass.
Scorn and mockery towards men in need is one of the reasons feminism is dying as we speak!.

Re: Indepent woman thinks maybe she'd like some chivalry as well
It is good to see a woman speaking out and saying that women have created a mess and are always changing their minds.
But if she wants a return to the 'old days' then she is going to have to offer a great deal more than wishes.
Some deep apologies for a start.
A LOT of work to put right all the damage too.
I doubt I will come to her party though. When in need of a drink to fill the soul

We haven't backed off at all, we have headed in the other direction, completely.."I don't think it's necessarily men's fault. Women have wanted to be independent, so men have backed off."

And what, pray tell, would men get in return for this?
Nothing, again?
Ahuh.
