House rejects ban on sex-selection abortion, but GOP makes its point

House rejects ban on sex-selection abortion, but GOP makes its point - CSMonitor.com

At the issue's core is this question: Are many sex-selection abortions performed in the United States?
The bill would make it illegal to perform an abortion "knowing that such abortion is sought based on the sex or gender of the child." However, the legislation tilted culpability toward doctors, noting that "[a] woman upon whom a sex-selection abortion is performed may not be prosecuted or held civilly liable for any violation."
"It is to be hoped that even many Members who deem themselves 'pro-choice' will recoil at the notion that 'freedom of choice' must include even the choice to abort a little unborn girl, merely because she is a girl," wrote Carol Tobias, president of the National Right to Life Council (NRLC), in a letter to House members that urged passage of the bill. "Members who recently have embraced contrived political rhetoric asserting they are resisting a 'war on women' must reflect on whether they wish to be recorded as being defenders of the escalating war on baby girls."
Looks like the GOP is fighting back, tarring democrats with their own brush.

What is never mentioned is the dark underbelly of the sex selection abortion movement here in America and also in Europe where women abort male children in favor of female children. It exists and the doctors who are doing this practice are making money hand over fist. Planned Parenthood is at the forefront of the movement. The news media will never shed light on this practice because they know where the money comes from.

Fertility clinics sort sperm and test zygotes for better chances of female offspring via the test tube. No one seems to care, or even give a passing thought to the practice.

The sex selection practices are widespread under the guise of reproductive health. In Asia the preference was to abort females in favor of males. In the West it is reversed.

It's a really big issue because female fetus are being aborted in the East. When male fetus are aborted, it does not even plink the radar.

    This is sad.

Not surprised here. The government stopped caring about morals a long time ago.
