According to comments made shortly before both videos were removed, an effort was being made to find somebody in the Cypress Landing condo, where the girls live, who will reveal their names. According to one comment, these are the only three girls in the condo who were in 8th grade at Dunbar Middle School at the time of the attack. I believe we should do whatever we can to cooperate with this effort, to protect other children from assault. What is very disturbing is the fact that shortly before somebody had the videos removed, there was speculation that the three girls may be plotting murder as their next prank. The sexual assault on the retarded boy was not the girls' first prank. Because they were never punishished, they grew continuously bolder until they commited a felony punishable by life in prison (sexual assault on a minor under 12) and posted it on youtube. We know these girls have no compassion for anyone, and have no moral inhibition to murder. It has been proven by this incident that they have no reason to fear the law. The only thing they have to fear is retribution from the boy. Even if the boy is not violent, he can press charges when he becomes 18, and the girls are surely worrying about that. Their only way out of this is to kill the boy, and it was suggested they may be planning to do that. Did the girls families get the videos removed because they know these comments are true?

Also, for months the videos were filled with negative comments about the girls and sympathy for the victim. Shortly before being pulled, there started to be comments defending the bullys. Comments that it was not really that bad because of some mysterious circumstances that nobody will reveal. Comments that the case is closed anyway, so there is no point in worrying about it. Here is another case of a young girl in Lee County Florida behaving badly. A 9-year old girl had a temper tantrum on a school bus. She later threw a piece of asphalt at the bus. She was arrested, taken to jail, and charged with multiple felonies. The girl, who has mental problems, was shown on Channel 2 news yesterday and her full name was given. I will refer to her only by her first name, Amber. Compare this case with the youtube assault incident.

1. How responsible are the perpetrators for their actions?
The youtube bullies were 13; Amber is 9. The youtube bullies made a deliberate decision to commit a crime, and cooperated to carry out the assault; Amber had a tantrum and may not have understood what she was doing. The youtube bullies acted over a considerable period of time, first committing assault, then posting it on youtube, then boasting to friends about it; Amber had a tantrum and ceased criminal behavior when she calmed down.

2. What is the seriousness of the crimes?
The youtube bullies crimes include sexual assault on a minor under 12, a life felony in florida. Only capital offenses like murder are more serious. They also produced and distributed child pornography, another very serious felony. They traumatized the victim mentally, as well as stomping on his throat.
Amber threw a piece of asphalt at a school bus and cussed at the driver. Nobody was injured.

3. Do we have evidence that would justify a trial?
We have absolute proof of the youtube bullies crime in the video they made of it. Whether we have witnesses telling the same story of Amber's actions is not known.

4. What is the racial and social status of the perpetrators?
The youtube bullies are White girls living in an exclusive gated community. Amber is a poor Black girl.

It would appear that to the Florida state attorney, race and wealth have priority over all other factors in deciding whether to prosecute. An excellent analysis of the two situations, broken down into easy to understand categorized groups. What would be useful is to find a similar group of boys sexually assaulting a girl under 12 and finding out how they were treated in comparison to the youtube bullies.

Boys and men are expected to "man up" and put up with being exposed in front of females both in terms of nudity and toilet business. Any male "not man enough" to do so without complaint is deemed a weaking or homo. Though females not who do not want to be simialarly exposed are not deemed to be weak or lesbian. So much for equality. So much for modesty. So much for human decency.

The police and prosecutor handled this case in a very strange and seemingly irrational manner. See my post about Amber, 2 posts up on this thread for an example of how this is not the way they normally do things. Almost everybody who has heard of this case thinks the police and prosecutor acted in a way that defies common sense. Here is a possible explanation for why they made no arrests or charges.

Perhaps the police made no arrests because they were paid to make no arrest. Perhaps the State Attorney was paid to refrain from filing charges. This would explain why this incident was handled in a manner both irrational and inconsistant with how other cases are handled. It would also explain why the police and state attorney refuse to justify their behavior. They say they cannot release information about the case because it involves juveniles. They could, however, explain why they did not arrest or charge without identifying the minors.
　
On the other hand, there might be a valid reason for not arresting or charging the girls. I think it is at least worthy of an investigation to determine if the police or state attorney were paid.

It appears they have a lot of money, and perhaps political connections as well.

Great find, outdoors. I have found that there are significant differences between the cases, besides the genders of the accused and accusors being reversed.

1) The accused boy is SIX years old, whereas the girls in the OP case are 12 or 13, right? In other words, the boy has not reached the age of accountability, but the girls have. Nonetheless, it is the primary school boy that is being held accountable for his actions, not the adolescent girls.

2) The boy's initial and his parents' names have been included in the news article, whereas the girls have remained fully anonymous.

3) The boy has a problem with his rectum that has required attention from a doctor. This lead him to think that examining someone's behind was perfectly acceptable and moral. He was just acting out what he had learned in the doctor's office. The girls were knowingly behaving maliciously.

4) And finally, as someone suggested in the OP case, the girl's family is "connected":
...The new federal lawsuit contends the whole investigation was biased because the girl's father is a "well-known political figure in Grant County," and her aunt a regional social services supervisor. It claims now-retired Grant County Sheriff's Sgt. James Kopp "waged a relentless campaign to discredit and embarrass and humiliate 6-year-old D," and that the entire process was unreasonable and unconscionable...
