I never quite understood this whole "men are stronger than women, therefore men can't hit women, but women can hit men" bullshit. If considering hits of equal force, then the strength of any given man and woman is irrelevant. Besides, why is this 'logic' not stretched to include cases of big men and smaller men etc etc? Just seems like a bullshit excuse for women to be given passes, as usual.

Anyway, I laughed out loud, at the video; if more men would take a similar stance, then we'd soon stop the problem of women thinking they can hit men.

It would of been better if the cop cuffed her right after being slapped. Holy crap, slap a cop here in the states and you would be lucky not to thrown to the ground and hand cuffed immediately, add being tasered and pepper sprayed if you had testicles. No wait, she was a female so it's ok for her to hit a cop, right???

She is a teacher who was hitting students and other members of staff, that's why she was arrested. She is a violent woman, in Romania a man hitting a police man would have the living shit beaten out of him.

Here is my take on this often-encountered moral problem.

Part of the problem is solved by some subtle but important change in language. Replace "men do not hit women" with "gentlemen do not hit ladies." There are two parts to this change: firstly, we all know that men DO hit women at times and sometimes we might consider this justified and other times, not -- so face reality and admit that men do but accept that a 'gentleman' does not hit a 'lady' (without getting too pedantic about what those terms mean). The second part is about the woman being a lady. Without trying to get pedantic about the difference, it's safe to say that while a 'lady' will defend herself, she does not make attacks on other people whatever sex they are. So if the woman hits out, she is no lady and is not therefore covered by the issue of 'a gentleman does not hit a lady' and deserves the same kind of response as any man would.

In summary, if your moral on hitting women is troubling you, dump the idea that a man may not hit a woman and replace it with the rule that a gentleman may not hit a lady (and a lady doesn't attack). Try to be a gentleman.

There is another aspect to what's going on here but I'll leave the psychologists to describe the approval/rejection stuff which is probably why the woman cried.

Why did she cry? Maybe it's the first time in her life someone, bigger than her or not, actually stood up against her and gave as he got. She's not used to it.

Absolutely. Any woman who hits to begin with, is not to be covered by any codes of chivalry; such codes apply only to LADIES. Whenever I hear women say, "where have all the gentlemen gone?", I inevitably find myself thinking, "perhaps the same place that all the LADIES have gone". As far as I'm concerned, there's no need for one, in the absence of the other.

You want to act like a ladette? Then I will exercise my right NOT to act like a gentleman.
