Re: Boys' club threatened with funding axe unless it accepts girls
One can only hope.
For example;
For immediate release:
Citizens of Bristol,
The current Board of City Councilors have reinterpreted the goals of The Broad Plain Boys' Club.
We cannot, in good conscience, concede with the current Board of Councilors new assessment, in that it will severely cripple the demonstrably successful goals of The Boy's Club.
Nor can we operate without the funds traditionally directed by previous City Councils for the program in it's current structure.
Effective IMMEDIATELY upon a current Councils vote to withhold funds, ALL personel will be retired from their positions, and ALL young minds of Bristol, previously occupied with the schemes provided ,and supervised by adults with The Broad Plain Boy's Club, will be left to their own devices in developing their activities during the formative years approaching adulthood.
All capital assets of The Broad Plain Boys' Club will be surrendered, in situ, to Bristol City Council of The Council House on College Green for liquidation.
We sincerely regret any inconvenience.
The Broad Plain Boys' Club.

Dear Mr xxxxx
In response to your query I can confirm that the press reports are factually incorrect. A positive working relationship exists between these organisations. In 2007 the management committee decided to change the name of their organisation from "Broad Plain Boys Club" to "Broad Plain (working with young people)". The committee did this to reflect the service the club currently delivers to both boys and girls. The club is working through a programme of changing their marketing material to reflect their new name.
Section 29 of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 does allow for the provision of gender specific services to be provided in limited circumstances e.g. single sex changing rooms. This would tend to be where the service is of a personal nature e.g abuse counselling for young women, sexual health advice for young men or where there is evidence that a particular group (usually women) would not be able to access the service/activity unless it was single sex.
Yours sincerely
Rose Richards (Head of Youth and Play Services)
If you are not satisfied with this response, you can take your complaint to Stage 2 of the Council's complaints procedure. If you wish to do this, please let us know, preferably in writing, by no later than 21st December 2008►My blog / Your Blog

Husband : "How about the ones like mine?"
Wife : "Those they gave away."
Husband : "I had a dream too...I dreamt they were auctioning off pussy. The pretty ones went for a thousand dollars, and the little tight ones went for two thousand."
Wife : "And how much for the ones like mine?"
Husband : "That's where they held the auction."

"or where there is evidence that a particular group (usually women) would not be able to access the service/activity unless it was single sex"
usually women?
Even their starting position for everything is so fundamentally flawed. Why even use that line? - they must be living in the 1950s or something. I'd complain about that email if nothing else.

Yep, because, you know, guys are just such pigs, that it positively PAINS women to be in their company?
"The provision of gender specific services to be provided in limited circumstances"?
Quote from A brainwashed robot
Yeah, sounds about right; limited to when the gender specific is FEMALE.....

People need to remember that the only way to win is to beat the feminists at their own game.
Ultimately this means being in favour of such changes and then asking why there are no domestic violence services, shelters open to men etc.
I really think the dv rulings in California will soon have the feminists running scared if we all keep up the pressure.
