Video: Superbowl Commercial
Mods if this is in the wrong section please move it to the right one. So I was watching the Superbowl yesterday and saw this commercial:
This commercial is played for laughs and kind of shows a woman beating the hell out of a man for a yogurt bite when he's just being playful then intimidating him when he finally gets his ass off the floor. Mind you I bet if the opposite happened their would be an outrage of men committing violence against women.

Yep, I caught this via facebook too. I commented earlier:
Wow talk about blatant promotion of violence against men by the unaccountable sex... as usual.

Husband : "How about the ones like mine?"
Wife : "Those they gave away."
Husband : "I had a dream too...I dreamt they were auctioning off pussy. The pretty ones went for a thousand dollars, and the little tight ones went for two thousand."
Wife : "And how much for the ones like mine?"
Husband : "That's where they held the auction."

Re: Video: Superbowl Commercial
Just an outright and blatant "violence against a man is ok" video. I really wonder why the commercial was allowed to air. I emailed Dannon and told them how utterly tasteless their advert was in promoting female on male domestic violence. No response yet.

Re: Video: Superbowl Commercial
All of this would be okay if they showed violence against women in the same light.
When I do this, and I know I will, it will be comparable to the lame learning to walk, the blind being enabled to see and the suffocated breathing again. The sky isn't the limit; there are no limits.

Re: Video: Superbowl Commercial
I was so pissed I mentioned this here earlier. That one and the cheetah commercial bothered me the most... Really? And she doesn't even have a headache while the man is whimpering. It also portrays an unnaturally strong woman taking advantage of a man...

What a nice nuturing woman!!! She would make such a great mother!!! She could drown the kids in the tub and then blame it on her hubby because he taunted her with yogurt.

Re: Video: Superbowl Commercial
Have you guys seen the comments on that page? Some of these commenters are saying, "Oh, get a sense of humor! It's just an advertisement! It's not gonna affect anyone. Get that stick out of your butts," or that's the gist I'm getting. They wouldn't laugh if the roles were reversed. I don't get it--they see the blatant misogyny in ads but ignore the blatant misandry in ads.

"Ladies: Do not be so independent that you render men useless. Be strong enough to recognize and appreciate the strength of a good man."

The response from Dannnon:

TPH,
Thank you for contacting the Dannon Company, Inc. We sincerely appreciate your interest in our products.
As the first yogurt company ever to advertise in the Super Bowl, Dannon wanted to entertain with a funny and playful depiction of how far someone might go to get our Oikos Greek yogurt. The headbutt in the ad is obviously an over-the-top and unexpected move to do just that. Our intention was to promote our Greek yogurt in an unexpected and funny commercial.
Dannon is strongly opposed to any form of domestic violence or abuse whether the victim is a woman or a man. We certainly understand that people can interpret the ad in different ways and never intended to offend anyone through our commercial. The last thing we wanted was to offend our customers - it's bad business and it goes against every value we stand for. We are sorry if our advertisement offended any viewers.
As always, we appreciate your interest in our products and are always available to answer any questions or concerns that you have. We are pleased with your interest in our products. If you have any further questions, comments, or concerns, now or in the future, please feel free to contact us at 1-877-DANNON-US (1-877-326-6668), Monday through Friday, 9 A.M. to 6 P.M. Nothing more than a canned response. These people simply don't care if they promote female on male domestic violence. Time to send these assholes a message. Send Dannon an email stating you don't approve of female on male or male on female domestic violence and that using shock humor with domestic violence against a man is not funny, it's misandric, and wholly offensive

Re: Video: Superbowl Commercial
Here's my e-mail:
Dear Dannon Customer Support,
Due to the violent ad you aired during the Superbowl, I will not offer you any more business. Having a woman assault an innocent man over a taste of yogurt was not even remotely humorous. It was offensive. There is already a gross prevalence of woman-on-man violence on TV both in commercials and on shows that is presented in a "humorous", "matter of fact", or "celebratory" way with no condemnation whatsoever, the way man-on-woman violence is portrayed as horrific.
If you folks think this is good for business, then you are despicable.
If you have any moral sense, you will remove the ad, make a Public Service Announcement condemning domestic violence against men, and donate your profits from the commericial to men's charities, shelters and rights organizations.
Thank you."Rights for women and responsibilities for men is really license for women, slavery for men, and liberty for neither. " Dylan MacVillain

Re: Video: Superbowl Commercial
Hi Everybody,
I sent a letter to Dannon, online, the moment I saw the commercial. I found it as offensive as have others. I received a response from them today.
Now, can anybody see any similarities between this and the one they sent to Dylan MacV?
YIKES-OS!
Sorry folks, there is too much good yogurt out there--the last Dannon I bought is the last I will ever buy. Done for good.

Re: Video: Superbowl Commercial
You know? Thanks for reminding me guys. Something proved my point even more than this commercial did. When I and a female relative were watching the commercial (as I anticipated) she laughed at the violence the entire time. I don't know if it's a fake "vengeful" laugh or an honest natural response but either way it is incriminating. This is a big part of the reason why I feel comfortable generalizing most women. I bet a lot of men are uncomfortable with that commercial but won't speak up because they don't want to lose female approval and that commercial appealed to most women watching it.
Anyone that states that when I say "most women" that's a generalization is merely stating the obvious. It is also a generalization that most women are different as well. Based on the trends, though a lot of women are that way and if it showed the man head butting the woman they'd be offended. A lot of women are tyrannical hypocrites. When I do this, and I know I will, it will be comparable to the lame learning to walk, the blind being enabled to see and the suffocated breathing again. The sky isn't the limit; there are no limits.
