His Mum is a fighter.

At sixteen, Ricky Blackman was fairly typical of teen-age boys. He loved sports, especially basketball and football, and played them well enough to have realistic hopes for a scholarship. He liked socializing and hanging out with his friends. And girls—of course there were always the girls.

No, sadly and tragically my son’s story is as real as the sky is blue.

The legislators have passed laws which violate rights of all and the sex offender registry is simply a smoke and mirrors game they play with the American people knowing full well its protects NO child!

The media (most of them) have followed suit and in the end families think their children are safe unaware stranger danger is a myth and ninety three percent of the “victims” know their “offender” as its usually someone the victim knows. A public registry destroys families and loved ones as they to are registered on the forms the former offender turns in.

The worst part is this: since we the people allowed the rights of one community to be removed due to their past, never allowing them a second chance then we will allow this to others as time progresses. Example: we have more registries coming for Domestic violence, DUI, Child Abuse etc.

We are facing registry mania and many citizens are unaware. We must have prevention and education programs for families and children as no one can seek counseling if they are considering some action against a “victim” because of mandatory reporting laws. Do we not want to prevent the sexual abuse before it happens?

if yes then we need to dispose mandatory reporting laws so those who wish too can seek counseling, treatment etc. Another step is to educate your children and teach them to say no if someone touches them in a “no” area. These laws do not work and in the end violate Human an Civil rights and again we need fact based laws based on research, evidence and truth. Each law passed currently such as Megan’s law, Jessica’s law and Adam Walsh Act are based on children (well two anyways) who were raped and murdered by men who needed help and are rare cases.

Yet we do not have such unconstitutional laws for those who murder children. Folks they can list my son as a predator, who is no danger to any child as his treatment counselor stated on record, so how the hell do w eknow who is a real danger?

With thousands of caes as this one its a proven fact the registry is a myth, a lie and based on hate.

My son and I are harrassed by vigilantes who post lies about me and him and others who fight for change. This registry had made my whole family suffer including my younger son. Who is protecting his rights?

I ask you to read and educate yourself its truly the beginning of protecting your family and children.

I read in some other post I can't recall where

If I was the US President, I'd make sure that that DA has no job anymore. It's despicable to press charges against a person who was lied to, especially since she admitted to lying to him.

On the other hand, nobody should talk to the police. If they'd question me, I wouldn't answer any question. If you ARE there you are already a suspect and nothing you can say can change that.

This is a real crock of shit.

HER (the young slag) actions are explained away by "peer pressure".

It is OK to lie about your age, is it not?, especially during a sexual encounter,. when you are the obviously younger party?

This whore should be exposed for the morally-bankrupt "person" that she is.

Feminism has a lot to answer for.

They have made it "OK" to dress up like a cheapo tramp and then scream discrimination when men ogle women dressed as such.
How the fuck that works, for a start, I have no idea.

Now,
Ricky's mother did him no favours at all, by excluding him from an interview he should have been party to.
The idea that she was on some sort of medication sounds bogus in my opinion, it is a cop out, almost like "I don't want to get involved"
And the idea that his father wanted a "quick result" is even more rubbish.

Don't parents care about their kids anymore?
And at the time of probably their greatest need.

I find it very bizzare how even before Ricky signed the said document, there was NO suggestion of legal representation, to actually read the documentation, before he signed it.
Imagine that, how many 17 year olds have a decent understanding of the ramifications of signing a document such as this?

And you can imagine the pressure on him from the police, to sign the bloody thing.

This whole thing stinks of entrapment and a half decent kid being sent to the wall by things (and people) in the background working with an ulterior motive.

In trying to be fair and not in any way condoning her actions, the girl involved was thirteen.

She was barely out of childhood.

Yes, she was a liar' yes, she was a willing participant. But she has been buggered by the system too. And where are her parents in all this?

Neither do I hold Mary to account (Ricky's mum.) for not being able to attend. The boy's step-father did and he failed to act. I do not hold him at fault either.

The GUILTY parties in this sorry sage are the Authorities. The Police acted appallingly; and the DA; and the Judge.

They I would see put against the wall and given the Feminist Justice Medal. (FMJ)

Age of consent boundaries are vital to the well being of society and serve multiple purposes. They protect children from sexual predation and exploitation. They also act as a deterrent to teen sex and the negative consequences that go with it. We recognize the need for these boundaries.

Yes this law is also in need of revision.For instance if a boy of 18 dates a girl of 16 is there anything really wrong with that?Now yes if an 18yr old boy decides to date a 14yr old girl then there should be intervention, because in this case there is an obvious maturity (not age) gap, whereas between 16-18 there really is not.In my state the legal age of consent is 17, so if a 17yr old kid decides to date a 15yr old girl it is for all respective purposes illegal!!Now granted there should be a limit, but I dont think that limit should be set by age alone, factors such as physical and mental maturity should play a part in those situations and mostly be left up to there parents to police....Just my opinion!

I don't think government should have a say in it whatsoever. In fact, I don't think they should intervene in anything so long as no one is using force or fraud against another, and aren't interfering with another person's rights.

There are always going to be 'age of consent' laws. That is prudent. Every parent (with the odd exception) wants them.

Choose what to support and what not to.

But that is a side issue. And 'agenda'. Focus on what you might do to help Ricky. Chaps are in need of all the help they can get.
